I think he’s a great prospect. Him and Thorniley.

Should be played and reintroduced to a confident winning side.

Penney has a great engine too - very athletic.

Him? As in garymegson?

Both full-back positions are up for grabs. At the moment, Fox & Palmer are earning their shirts. Penney's time will come again. I agree with one of the previous posts...Penney has been moved about in the side too much given it's his breakthrough season. Bruce needs to establish his best position and bed him in.

Agree, all the youngsters introduced in a side struggling to play was never going to be successful. There needs to be a mix of senior experienced players with the youngsters. Sure Bruce will recognise Penneys best position and hopefully play him there instead of playing him every other position on the pitch.

He was playing ok with confidence until he got messed around by Jos who shifted him to a nonsense position.

His confidence was then shot and the crowd turned on him.

He is obviously good enough going forward to play the full back role but needs to improve defensively/physically which is why wing back suited him

Last seen chasing two blokes driving his Merc away.

Looked very good those first few games at Left back. Stopped cross after cross which full backs these days never seem to do.

Then Jos decided to play him LWB, LW, CM and RW

...and sometimes at the same time

And the circle turns again.

I hope that the fans do not fall into the "Let's buy success" ballcocks again, looking for a short cut and ignoring our own young players.

PLEASE no more 28 - 30 yr olds acting as bed blockers.

Jesus, it’s not a personal sabotage of our young players, people are just commenting on what they’ve seen

If they’re not good enough, what can you do?

Ahh so that's why he got September player of the month then with an overwhelming majority vote

My point exactly. What's happened since then?

Funny how opinions fluctuate.

Was probably time to rest him and take stock, I think he has Reach like attributes which is why he was tried in midfield and his attacking play was his main strength so it’s odd it didn’t work.

I wonder if his future depends on a wing back formation

Exactly, no wonder most of our young talent go elsewhere. Who can blame them

Now that's a disgraceful comment.

Personally, I won't be writing off a kid who has played just 16 games in a struggling side in different positions during a very bad run in front of what was at best an apathetic crowd.

There were few players playing well at the time he made his last start.

He'll get an opportunity at some stage and I think he's got enough in the locker and the potential to take it.

By your own admission you’ve not been to a single game in the Chansiri era.

How would you know what these players are like?

If he continues to train with the first team and gets the odd game this season it will still do him the world of good.

It's not exactly 1989 when you can only find things out via Ceefax.
