I think he was well supported by the fans until the last couple of months The decision to leave out senior players totally bit him in the bum, as results have shown. Baker, Preston, Dawson et al all have some first team football under their belts. Will be a lot easier for Bruce when he has to clear out the high earners and rely on these guys more that they have worn the shirt already. We are in a sort of honeymoon period at the moment where players who have been very injury prone are fresh and fit as Jos has hardly played them. I mentioned that one of their locals was managing my club to the lads that I was with (all big football fans who follow the German game as well). prowl Posted January 2, 2019 Share Posted January 2, 2019 I can see that Jos was trying to bring the young players through and think it's admirable that he tried to do so. In my mind though it is better to bring them in to a winning team where they have experienced players around them. Throwing 3 or 4 young lads into a team that is struggling is a recipe for disaster. The team will fail and the pressure on the youngsters can seriously set back their progress. It was a good idea in principle but it failed. when it failed JL should have gone back to basics and played his experienced players with one youngster only introduced into the side each game.
