This might all be pointless debate anyway because if Birmingham turn it around everyone will want Bullen out. Yep. But supposing we win today then Bruce comes in and loses his first 2 matches ? Carbone
Just now, Lord Snooty said: Not saying that Bullen should get the job. But all managers new in a job are following someone who has been failing as a rule don't they? How can people be judged long term if they only ever get the opportunity for short term appointments? Yep, but the examples I used, Sherwood, he's had short term success and the story is he's gone in there and just been everyone's mate, but after a while it went pear shaped. He had a good run at Villa keeping them up and then lost 6 games in a row when he was appointed permanent. He's been out of football since 2015. Likewise Di Matteo, brought back a few of the old guard at Chelsea, according to Drogba's book he didn't even pick the team and the tactics and the players decided how they were going to play. He was sacked the next season after bad results and it went badly for him at Schalke and Villa. Di Matteo has a Champions League manager medal and Sherwood got Villa to the FA Cup final. So you look at us, Westwood and Hutch brought back in, there is a hint of what I've seen before with caretakers going in and being everyone's mate with Bullen and getting some good short term results. The examples above suggest it's misleading when somebody comes in and is everyone's mate. I don't think he'd be a good choice for us long term and Bruce would be much better suited. Let's not forget the 0-3 at home to Burton last season either Bullen was in charge of, and even though we beat Forest it was a ridiculous result if you saw the game. Guest Grez Bez
We look good, Boyd Nd Matias add some movement for Fletcher to play off. Hutch gives Bannan space to get on the ball and offers himself for the ball at all times. Hector and Lee's look comfortable and Hutch is covering where needed. Fox looks good. Happy all round. Would like Winnall to come on and bag

I know what you are saying and they are good examples. But shouldn't people be judged on their own merits and what they bring to the job? If we look at our own club... Stuart Gray got some bounce results , but then also went on to create our tightest defensive unit in years without a groat to spend. He was a manager friendly with the players and it seemed to work for him. I think modern players, rightly or wrongly, all responded better to someone who communicates with them on a more level field and less of the cap doffing we saw when I was a younger man. Still. I pressume Bruce is on his way in so it probably matters little. Edited January 1, 2019 by Lord Snooty
