Apart from FFP effectively resetting back to zero. Hence why a new owner could go on a spending spree in January.

How does that work then? Enlighten us.

FFP doesn't reset to zero upon a sale.

Otherwise Chansiri would sell to his Dad, spend £39m then sell it back and do the same ad infinitum.

Maybe new owner wouldn’t have touched us with jos in charge and wanted guarantees that Bruce would come

Exactly! Because lets be honest, everyone would be doing it.

It did cross my mind at why he may have spent a week or so back home before the fans forum. Surely it’s a possibility that he’s been trying to get more investment via his family etc. If you where going to sell the club you’d have stripped it of all valuable assets and most definitely not hireing a new boss at 2million. I’ll take my hat off to the bloke tho if he’s giving the ball one last kick.

Changing ownership dosnt, repeat dosnt effect your current p and s.

Not disputing but didn't Forest's new owners have £40M of debts written off and then the embargo lifted?

Forest had a few years of struggling and tightening their belts after falling foul of FFP last time. Nothing to do with the takeover and new owners

Obviously I’m wrong then.

I’d read abit back that the EFL effectively started afresh so the new owner wasn’t punished by the previous owners bad management.

Obviously that was bullshit.

That in the next few weeks DC announced that the club has been sold.

We've gone from having no money to be able to offer Bruce 2 million to come in where's this money suddenly come from

Maybe new investors have put money upfront and Bruce is their man

I don't think we ever had "no money". It's just that with FFP rules we couldn't spend any more without risking a new transfer embargo or points deduction.

I guess DC has decided it's a risk we now need to take.

The debt will have been written off by the previous owner cutting his losses in order to get shut of the club.

Lifting the embargo would be a separate issue, nothing to do with writing off of debts. It was probably planned (by the buyers) to get the club at a time when the embargo ended and they could invest to progress the club.

Its a loophole, I imagine they closed very quickly. Massively open to abuse.

Nope had a few years of stuggle, sold Burke and biscuit knees to Middlesbrough. Three year cycle ended, spending started.

To offset ffp, we need income generation and player sales. As we struggle to generate income, we would have to sell to buy.

As far as im aware, unless goalposts are being moved or we are about to earn alot of money from somewhere.

Who knows?

Lets enjoy some positive news for a change.

And I think they’ve recouped a bit from some player sales, Assombalonga for example was sold for many millions.
