That's why Jos is still Manager!

But say they do keep us up, then we turn to the ones that remain and say well now you have to do it all yourselves with no one to help you this time, they keep us up this year and they kick on as a unit next year maybe that’s the way of thinking

Maybe by next season we will find ourselves in a better financial position and bring some new players in. Sounds doubtful at the minute but you never know. We have a lot of players out on contract at the end of the season so could free up some money for new blood.

Well that's clearly the plan, but we'll need a good manager to pick and mix the right players from all leagues - something we've failed to do over the last two years. We need to stay in this league first though.

A bit of humility from DC would be welcome on all this, instead of wondering why we aren't sending him flowers for buying JR.

Think we should let Jos go and have a guest manager each week.

A bit like when Angus Deaton left 'Have I got news for you'

Couldn't do an awful lot worse than Jos and seeing as Managers are like water melons, we can 'try before we buy'

If they do well they get paid and have the option of another week.

If they don't do so well we can make them eat witchety grubs and publicly flog them outside the megastore.

lol

Or fans can enter into a weekly draw , for say £10 ,and that weeks manager is picked out of a hat . This also has the advantage of raising income to help offset FFP.

Again, what is the point in playing them? Sure, rely on them now but what about next season, when the same squad don’t have them to rely on?

Every footballer in the world is available at the right price do you not play them in case someone wants to buy them or they may not be with you next season. A good manager plays his strongest team whilst also having an eye on the future. We should have learnt from the Nuhui debacle let players try earn a new contract then simply said thanks but no thanks an move on

He's gonna be a manager for a long time then, fans hoping for a takeover of the club are gonna be bitterly disappointed.  Would you buy a club whose fans are so against anything the club tries to do?

Some fans might be preening themselves thinking they have won this battle but who's gonna win the war?

The fans aren't against anything the club tries to do for goodness sake.

All the fans ever wanted was for Chansiri to seek proper, impartial advice instead of counsel from those with a vested interest.

Had he done that, then this mess is unlikely to have happened.

The fans backed Chansiri with money they couldn't really afford, and have been rewarded with stubbornness, arrogance, and a failure to take responsibility for the situation we find ourselves in.

In the first two successful seasons, how many times did we all say that for all the money spend, the spine of the team was basically the same as when Gray was here?

How many times did Hog Staton argue with that Blades fan who said that United should "sack the squad as Wednesday did", only for HS to argue that the core of the team was already present when Chansiri came in?

Hutch is absolutely critical to this team. Carlos thought he could drop him into CB (which is why we never got one to partner Lees), only to discover after the window had shut that he needed him in the middle.

If he weren't a crock we wouldn't see the edge of a player of his ability, and ironically he's played far more than you'd expect.

Westwood too was part of the spine, as were Lee and Loovens.

Boyd too is quality, he's just had his pig killed.

Just a thought and I’m totally expecting to get shot down for this. The contact we’ve supposedly had with Bruce has been through a third party? Was this third party representing Chansiri or potential new owners? Probably New Owners and New Money is the only way we’d attract him? Again it’s just a thought?

A new owner wouldn't make any difference to our ability to spend money or escape another embargo, though.

Whether under Chansiri or someone new, any manager will have the same P&S constraints to work within.

You’re probably right but I suspect there will be tweaks to the P&S rules at some stage to allow new owners leeway to spend when they come in at a club otherwise it’s going to always be difficult to attract fresh investment into clubs because of P&S rules?

The club is on the market, so no point in sacking the manager as potential new owners will want their own man.

Negotiation probably going on behind scenes and that's why Jos keeps saying he doesn't know when pressed about such things.

It seems a poisonous culture came about in the dressing room under Carlos reign when he kept playing the old guard, even when they were looking stale/tired. Then Jos arrived and has gone the polar opposite.

I hope Jos has a change of heart over Christmas and decides those players have learned their lesson and will only get picked if they perform well.

Uto

Wtid

Wawaw

In which case he’s bullet proof so he might as well come out and say what’s happening. . Still amazes me that nothing is leaked? Unless they have all sworn an oath, punishable by death.

In football you have to play your best team.  Without that you can't motivate players, you can't ask them to put the team ahead of their own interests you inevitably will have a toxic atmosphere where team selection is based on politics and not winning.   Jos obviously knows this, I think it has to be Chansiri who is dictating that players can't play.

In any case whatever else you think about the manager or tactics....this simple fact alone, not playing your best 11 at all times is enough to put any squad where we are now.

Focus on the present mate. We're in the 5h1t and need the points. Freezing out players based on next season is a strange thing to do, that's why other clubs don't do it.

Jos is still here because DC is loyal to a fault

I believe he hasn't sacked Jos because he can't, it's up to his advisers when he goes.

Why would he show loyalty to someone he doesn't know, didn't find him not to mention freezing players out who allegedly DC spends a lot of dosh on and to remark..'i don't know why Hutch isn't playing. Wouldn't you think, he would ask why...after all i'm paying his wages.

Nah, it doesn't make sense DC is merely a figurehead..someone else is running the club.

AIMO of course

You play your strongest available side, regardless. What's the point of a 3 year contract for example if you don't play them in the third season. That's business suicide.

Valid point but I suppose it depends on who makes the decision on what is the strongest available side.
