We’re F*cked

Recommended Posts

Sheffield Wednesday Football Club is in massive trouble.

FFP is a huge problem and isn’t going away. Seems to bigger than any of us actually thought. Steps to resolve it are required immediately and won’t be alleviated by expiring contracts.

Named and shamed Abdi as “disrespectful” to the club, to a facepalm by the CEO.

”I don’t know” when asked about the plan for the next 5 years.

Your money doesn’t cover anything, but he can’t put the prices down.

The manager isn’t going anywhere, but at least he’s human. A point nicely clarified for us across multiple questions.

Tired and alone. Values club at £100m. Says we should thank him.

Multiple vague references to “won’t be as bad as before”. Outright states we won’t be going down.

Buckle your seat belts, folks. This rollercoaster is heading back down and fast. I think we’re as likely to be out of business as we are a Premier League side within the next 10 years.

Oh, and that banner at the back of the Kop? Can we take it the f*ck down please?

The only statement I’d take issue with is the £100M valuation for our club, everything else is no doubt true.

I appreciate there’s very little sympathy for DC amongst our fan base, but I do find it very sad that our current plight is so symbolic of the game as a whole.  The players are grossly overpaid and many have no loyalty or conscience for their employers.  Obviously can’t blame anyone for taking the money, but for many to offer next to nothing in return is appalling.

If I were DC I reckon I’d be tempted to take any crazy kind of offer for our club, cut my losses and go home for some sunshine. It really isn’t worth the aggro.

I have no doubts about him telling the truth. He’s given people fuel for that fire, but personally I don’t have DC down as a liar.

Unfortunately in this case, the truth is enough of a horrifying shambles in itself. The truth stinks and holds as evidence of gross negligence and mismanagement.

The bit about valuing the club at £100m is just delusion. Utter delusion. Which again is bad in itself. If Chansiri thinks Sheffield Wednesday is worth £100m - in this or any other state - then what else is he equally delusional about? The quality of the manager? His vague platitudes about not seeing us get relegated? The true impact of FFP?
