How much funding is allowed under FFP rules for owners to inject in sponsorship?

I believe the limit is set in comparison to commercial rates and we are at that limit.

You've made the claim now show the evidence, thanks.

‘You believe’ - so you don’t know either. Find your own evidence

"I bought SWFC and entrusted Amadeu Paixão as principal advisor, I entrusted my family and Wednesdayites money. I realise this mistake, he and all of his associates no longer have any input on decision making at our club, unfortunately I can not do anything about the contracts which have been signed by players to be agent represented by those guys. I apologise for misleading fans last December with the poorly thought through poll which I now recognise was a major cause of breakdown of trust. I have decided to employ experienced football people with a strong bond to SWFC, people who are committing to not make money by any other means, especially football related, so they can not fall foul of corruption in football, to help me run the club. I will no longer be interfering in player matters other than approving the manager for the 1st team, I ask all Wednesdayites to work with me through this based on the above commitments"

I would be happy with the above.

This season is a write-off, we need mental alignment to ensure we stay in the division,  plenty of players go off the books next summer, consolidate next season, push for promotion the season after.

(sorry for double post, suspect other thread will be closed)

Would love him to say that but I very much doubt he will. DC doesn’t seem like a man that likes to admit his mistakes, and let’s be honest he has made a lot with us!

I don’t know what the detail is on the “fair and reasonable value” rule, and I can’t seem to find the sponsorship values for Championship clubs online to compare.

I found information on epl clubs, and looking the smaller clubs of the PL sponsorship deals aren’t huge. Bearing in mind that they’ll be inflated because of the PL factor.

So perhaps 1.2 million is all we’re worth?

Lee Straford's post reads well but needs one additional point in my view:

I will be bringing in a Manager with both experience and a track record of success in the Championship to lead the fight against relegation.

Afterall it was a Lee Straford who brought in Alan Irvine and that name still makes me shudder.

Many people have seen a real similarity and likeness betweeen Luhukay and Irvine.

Sheffield Wednesday owner Dejphon Chansiri has vowed to hold nothing back at the fans’ forum tonight.

No subject will be off the agenda when the Thai businessman hosts the event in front of a large crowd in the 1867 Lounge at Hillsborough this evening (7pm), where all seats have been taken up.

Unhappy fans are demanding answers to Wednesday’s demise in the Championship this season. Sections of supporters have called for manager Jos Luhukay to be sacked.

But Chansiri has promised to be “open” and “transparent” as he looks to revive the club’s fortunes.

Speaking exclusively to The Star, Chansiri said: “I’m going to say more at this forum than I have done before.

“I’m going to be open and I want people to listen. I will say things from my heart.

“I have to laugh sometimes when some fans say I’m not transparent and honest. I am always as honest as I can be with the fans but some only want to hear what they want to hear.

“If some fans don’t believe what I have to say, there is no point in talking to me."

“I always say the truth, even when they are not things the fans are going to like. I will always tell the truth. I’m not going to lie.

“I’m not going to tell them everything they like to hear like some other clubs do.”

Chansiri, who purchased the Owls nearly four years ago, expects some criticism from fans attending the event. But he is urging supporters to voice their opinions in a respectful and constructive manner.

He said: “Some fans say I communicate less now, that I am not transparent, that I lie and I am the worst chairman. I will answer all their questions on Wednesday.

“If you want to talk to me, give me opinions in the right way. Please don’t shout and be aggressive to me.

“When people ask me things in a polite way, I always answer.

“If someone has a problem, I want them to say it direct.”

Many supporters have expressed their concern over the direction the club are heading in on and off the pitch.

Saturday’s 2-1 defeat at Swansea City means Wednesday have won just once in 10 matches and sit just five points above the relegation zone.

Chansiri said: “I understand the fans’ frustration. They are not happy and neither am I.”

Wednesday are languishing in 18th position after accruing just five points from the last 30 on offer.

The pressure is mounting on Luhukay, who walked out in the middle of a post-match interview with BBC Radio Sheffield in South Wales after reacting angrily to questions over his future, to arrest their slump in form.

Luhukay slammed his side’s defending against Swansea after they surrendered a one-goal lead at the Liberty Stadium.

“In a couple of minutes we gave everything away,” he said. “We didn’t defend down our left side twice and that is not acceptable, you have to run with your opponent.

“I have tried to coach this three or four times, but it is not going in their heads.

“I am so angry because the players are showing no proof of what we are doing. It is not the first time we give a 1-0 lead away for the opponents to score two goals.

“How many times has this happened? When the players don’t learn from this situation then you won’t win games. Maybe the players can give the answers

TBH, I’ve given up. Just my opinion but I think we are going down, and looking at a Coventry/Portsmouth situation.

DC is a decent chap, but if he can’t see that this team, and club, would benefit from change in manager, then there is absolutely no hope. There may be financial reasons for not doing it, and if so, fair enough. If it’s for football reasons, like the ridiculous treatment of a number of players, then it’s game over.

The game changed for me when DC made the point in September that if we didn’t go up, we were in big trouble. Anyone who understood football, this league and our squad knew full well were not going up. It wasn’t the fact we weren’t going up that was the issue. It was the fact the Chairman couldn’t see it.

Over and out for me.

For the gazillionth time - HW made all recommendations on football and the full board made the decisions....I never made a decision on that side of things, I had another preference as manager (promised to never reveal the identity  to the person in question) and was also the only voice saying Brian needed to go 6 weeks before he went. I did maintain a positive working relationship with both managers during my time at the club.
