I think most keepers would have saved both. The first was woeful the 2nd was even worse it was straight at him!

This isn't Sunday league. This is a high standard of football.

Kid just ain't good enough.

Need to get a experienced keeper in on loan in January.

So de gea should have saved this then? After all It was straight at him.

Having watched the game. I think it's harsh to blame Dawson when once again we allowed 2 soft goals from very poor defending.

On the first who was marking the score in the middle of our box, and on the second, we were half asleep against the player running through. It was struck a few yards out at pace and went through Dawson's legs and most keepers would have suffered the same fate, particularly when it looked like he was going to shoot across goal.

Don't disagree.

Do think Westwood might have got himself positioned better for the first and been able to see the strike earlier and possibly save it.

Similarly for the 2nd Westwood is a lot more aggressive coming off his line and closing down. Didn't earn his nickname of the "Cat" for nothing. Swings and roundabouts as he gives away more penalties, but in this case I would have backed him to come out and save that shot with his feet.

The other point would be perhaps the marking wouldn't have been so dire with an organiser screaming at them, and the lack of concentration/giving up after conceding the first wouldn't have been allowed with him on the pitch.

Well made points nebneeb.

The latter would be just as relevant to highlight missing Loovens. Not for ability but being a vocal leader and organiser. With Westwood still actually being our player it does put Dawson unfairly in the spotlight.

We do appear to lack leaders in all areas of the pitch and I agree that is a factor in our capitulations. Leadership tends to come from experience, yet he has shunned our more experienced players - what a waste of resources.

Just watched both goals and have to disagree with most here.

1st goal, well placed finish in the corner with defenders on their heels all over the place. No chance.

2nd goal, as a finisher, smashed in the place you should smash it from 6 yards out, straight between the keepers legs.

Playing at CB with a keeper you are confident in makes such a difference to the way u play. Iv played there for the last 10 years or so at different levels with different keepers and no matter what level it just puts you at ease knowing what's behind you

No amount of decent reaction saves or potential (which Dawson does have) can make up for that, and let's be honest the defenders will feel much more comfortable with an experienced keeper behind em

If Westwood is well and truly done here we need a keeper on loan in January

Of all the people to blame, Dawson isnt the man.

He's been a big highlight in a disaster of a season and deserves a lot better - from his defenders and the fans.

Don't think it is about blaming Dawson, as is always exposed. He has made some bad errors recently and really could do with a break. Playing behind that defence each week cannot do his confidence any good.

Give him a break let him get His head together a bit.

Could benefit from watching Westwood videos seeing how he commands the box and constantly telling defenders what they should be doing.

Shot went through Dawson's legs today and through his hands last week. That's three points dropped in two matches. Time to give him a rest IMO. Another  howler might just set his progress back.

The one through his hands was a howler.

All keepers let them through their legs when it’s hit with power from close range.  It happens every single week in the PL.

The narrow angle that the shot was taken from means it should have been saved, most keepers at this level would have kept it out IMO.
