Slightly disturbing

Recommended Posts

I find it slightly disturbing that quite a few fellow Owls seemingly want to turn the clock back, ie Megson an option as manager, replacing Forestieri with a 28 year old League Two striker. Have we accepted we are going to be relegated?

We’ve come a long way in these last three years, and despite so many recruitment mistakes, surely we are better than that. The squad is sprinkled with quality players, Westwood, Lees, Hector, Bannan, Reach, Matias, Fletcher and Joao. Plenty of others are more than adequate at this level, plus some promising youngsters coming through. Of course we aren’t too good to go down, but we should be. Under a decent coach, used to working with quality footballers, there’s no need for such talk. Even with an embargo, we have enough here to form the nucleus of a good side

This is the big issue we are not fooked with the players we have at our disposal. We could under a decent manager with simple smart recruitment be in with a shout of a play off push.

Look at the signings since this mess was revealed:

Hector - Decent but no more than that

Pelupessy - Not good enough.

Onomah - Not had a chance but not pulled up trees when he has played.

Instead of those three if there was a CB RB and CM pulled on loan which were decent and a manager that knows the league could pull there is no reason why we couldn't be up there.

We may be a mess off the field but if we get rid of Jos and get someone who knows what there doing were not as good as were were but were by no means in a mess on it.

I'd prefer going down the route of selecting a proven championship manager over unknown, overseas gambles with no experience of managing in England never mind the championship.

I know Megson divides opinion but he has championship promotions on his CV, turned us around in a relatively short period of time and, let's not forget he was able to attract at least two top quality players (Marshall and Antonio) to a club in League One.

Disagree. Where we are now we are in a worse position then 3 years ago.

100%, to be honest I'm still reasonably optimistic that a new manager stringing together a good run in Jan/Feb/Mar could put us in contention for a playoff place. The league is a complete mess this year and even a couple of months of the consistent quality that our players have shown before could be what we need.

A combination of factors, poor year two recruitment, an injury crisis that would have scuppered most teams, and a managerial appointment that has just not worked out. None of those problems are insurmountable though, we still have the nucleus of the squad that made the play offs. A decent coach can right the ship, no problem

Players who got us to play off final in 2016 or either injured and probably never play for us again (Lee and Hooper)

Not playing for some unknown reason and will be shipped out in January (Hutchinson and Westwood)

Injured more often then not (FF)

Not playing at that level they were then (Lee)

Or been moved on (Loovens and Wallace)

Bannan was best player early in the season but a bit off form now, sure he will get it back sometime though.

Would say only really Reach out of players brought since has worked out.

We have moved backwards since and may be have another transfer embargo looming.

I wouldn't use hyperbole and say we have a civil war between club and fans but fans are restless.

Form of course may be related to the tactics of an inept manager. The two big misses are Lee and Hooper, but since the play off final we’ve added Reach, Fletcher and one or two others. Add in the emergence of exciting talents like Dawson, Thorniley and Penney. There is plenty of talent still available, we just need a decent coach

Has anybody actually said they want to do that?

That is more disturbing than the fact Jos is still in charge.

disturbing that you think that way , all the stats results point that we aint good enough and are going down , we are 23rd or 24th for shots in box ,passes in box assists , as well at other end of pitch incredibly poor , dawson has had more shots to save than anyone . if it wernt for worldies from reach, joao bannan we would be waving the white flag, what I want to know is what chansiri is going to do to reward the 1000 going to Swansea who will after endure a nightmare journey and probable hammering.

Look no further than negative tactics I’m afraid Our players are capable of much better than this

Give over, it's embarrassing. After Bristol City away Luhukay was the flavour of the week, a couple of games later they all wanted him out. Look at the Nuhiu love in last season and the hate he's been getting this season, jokers.
