It could have been a cringeworthy “we’re the best team in the world” effort or a dig at our neighbours which, no doubt, they will do if they advertise. Chill Winston. Enjoy the ambiguity of it. I see it more as a classic “kitchen sink” drama, where the anger and frustration of failing to hold down his job in car design has robbed our protagonist of his masculinity, self respect and ability to sexually satisfy his wife. The monopoly set is a symbol of how his feeling of self worth is tied into his ability to generate income and his ultimate failure as a man and/or owl.
