Nigel Pearson

It's often cited that big Nige has said he wouldn't manage either Sheffield side as he lives in the city.

Can anybody provide a link to an article where he is quoted saying this?

Intrigued as to whether it's fact or an urban myth, like big cats scavenging through bins at Lodge Moor or Abdi being able to do 10 one arm press ups.

He's a nutter though.

Perhaps that's whats needed to get through some thick heads?...

We will rue the missed opportunity to make McCarthy a deal he couldn't turn down and bang some heads together - Pearson is another former CB in that mould.

There was an interview on Football Focus with Clemmitt about 2 years go when he said it.

It was also mentioned on Radio Sheffield.

He reiterated in person to a group of chaps at  the150th.

He told me in person when I bumped into him at Art in the Park 18 months ago also.

That said money talks.

That said again....we haven't got any.

Hope this helps.

I don’t have a problem with that decision

He once said it as a diplomatic answer and folk have run with it ever since

Is there a person in the world that would rather commute than work down the road ?

Conjecture, hearsay and supposition. I asked for proof. :-)

Sat next to us at the 150th do at Ponds Forge.

During the meal asked him his views on managing us one day and his only reply was “Too disrespectful to discuss a job when someone (Carlos) already in the position”.

He certainly never ruled it out.

Was fantastic company all night, sharing some brilliant anecdotes from his time with us.

Really does have an affinity to the club ........ who knows?

Abdi can do 100 one arm press ups. 50 on each arm.

He can't run up and down a pitch to save his life though

I heard an interview with Pearson on Radio Sheffield about 1 of 2 years ago.

He admitted that he still has strong feelings towards Wednesday.

Then Radio Sheffield asked him if he could ever see himself being the manager at Hillsboro.

He laughed and said he couldnt even consider applying for any job at Hillsboro.

He explained that he currently lives in the Sheffield area with his family life and personal happiness being a top priority.

Said he enjoys the freedom of mingling with the locals and if he became SW then this would prove difficult.

Basically if he became SW manager he feels he’d need to live outside South Yorkshire and he clearly doesn’t want to move house.

He also told me at Lowedges festival as we were bouncing on the trampolines and giggling like little girls
