Please play Joao in a 2 today....

....with Nuhiu or Fletch.

Don't play him wide, don't play Matias - he's not good enough.

I'd go 4-4-2

              Dawson

Palmer  Hector Lees Pudil

Reach Bannan Onomah Penney

             Fletcher Joao

Not a cat in hells chance of that line up as Joey will be first name on team sheet.

Well Bannan is probably out so it could happen.

Dont disagree with you at all. I’ve always been a 442 fan. It provides width and avoids the frontman being isolated and losing possession.

Also puts a wide player ahead of our very limited fullbacks.

Gives us more ore options for outballs too, which is key when we are clearly determined to play out from the back. So far we always look inside for the pass. Much better if Wide is an option.

Agree he’s not a winger and should play in a two up front (how good was he alongside Dave in a two at the back end of last season? Only for Jos not to even try it this year, weird).

But we don’t have the personnel to play a 4-4-2 you suggest. Play better as 3-5-2. With players currently available I’d go:

                     Dawson

          Lees Hector Thorniley

Palmer Pelupessy Bannan Penney

                       Reach

               Fletcher Joao

You can’t say matias isn’t good enough, then draft in Penney

A couple of things that stand out.

Thought Bannan is injured, penney is terrible in midfield and start with Nuhui and half the others will blame Jos.

He can't pick a team or formation that everyone will agree is a good one.

He can't pick one end of

Penney is useless in a midfield 3 - don't think anyone would choose to play him there other than our manager. Wide midfield is probably his best position should he ever get a run in the side to test that........

Agree we don’t have the personnel for a 4-4-2. I would go with a 3-5-2 today as well:

                         Dawson

         Lees.        Hector.         Pudil

Boyd.  Onomah  Hutch Jones.   Reach

                  Joao.     Fletcher

Well looks like Jos has partially listened to me.

Not it that I would ever start Fox.

Perhaps. I think he’ll still start wide in the team that’s been picked

-edit you weren’t the OP so might not care about Joao out wide
