What's to stop

Recommended Posts

Chansiri buying some unknown club back in Thailand (or anywhere outside of UEFA area) and then buying Fox, Nuhiu, Jones and Boyd for £30million each

We get £120m injunction, FFP is sorted and we move on.

figures exaggerated to make the point but is there anything in the FFP rules to stop this happening....almost a reverse Leicester?

Would probably be hit with an injunction if he did that.

What’s to stop him from paying £30m+ to sponsor the ground?Surely there must be ways to get his money into the club if he wanted

Has to be fair market value. Man City got caught out a bit with this. Nothing to stop him or others sponsoring the training ground, the Kop, the ground, back of shirts, various other things other clubs do and we have nothing and then we are falling foul of ffp. Doesn’t add up

He's not allowed to.

Any sponsorship has to be at a similar market value to other Championship clubs & nobody in the Championship will be getting anything like £30m for ground sponsorship.

I think the EFL are wise to Chansiri and his attempts to create income for the club after his D- Taxi's and invisible fizzy pop companies.lol

He obviously either can't or doesn't want to

It's not as simple as that. The authorities know what other clubs get for ground sponsorship/naming rights and if we suddenly get £30M when other clubs in this division get £1M (made up figure) they will disallow the £30M and probably fine us for being cheating bas people.

There is a limit set by EFL for that area of expenditure.  It's not much.
