JL 'hopeful' he might be able to return to training in January, but it depends how he reacts. I don't think we'll see him in a SWFC shirt again. However, I'd love to be proved wrong. Castleford Owl
The one player we miss more than anything, someone who can go box to box and link up play so well. Really hope he can finally get himself back.
matthefish2002
If training in January with the amount of time he has already been will be eased back into the first team. If he does play again this season will be into next season minimum he will be match fit and up to speed.
Redfern Froggatt
What I don't understand is why it took so long for him to have the op. He played in the U23s in early September - had a reaction and was clarly assessed at that point as it was announced that he'd be out until the New Year then. So if they know what's wrong and what's required - why wait until early November to go under the knife? He could be at least 3 weeks further into his recovery by now. Allegedly some dithering from medical professionals in appointments. (admittedly an unsubstantiated rumour)
bigash_swfc
Surgery while contract is running down. A veteran move for a better future. Wallace did this last year

Because the club and the medical staff don't have a fing idea what they are doing, Winnall has been out for nearly 2 months with a strain any other club is 2 weeks max. Hooper is out with god knows what wrong with him. Knee injuries seem to be the excuse the club uses when hey don't know. Press conference to press conference the manager does not know which players are fit or injured. Expect Fessi and Matias to pick up knocks shortly and we won't seem them until the new year. bigdan2003
This is different to the injury that kept him out previously, though, right?

striker
That's a real shame for the lad, top player and probably our biggest loss of all the injured players. I'd be surprised if he plays professional football again which is sad because he was a talented player who gave his all for the club.
Beauchief Owl
Sad situation, but to be honest I'd already come to the conclusion we won't see him in the first team again. A problem hip followed up with surgery on the knee does not bode well for KL, a player who could always be relied upon to do his best.
WalthamOwl
Brilliant player. Unfortunately I doubt he will ever play for us again.

I'm sure it was reported in the press a few weeks ago that he had been referred to a specialist in London for an independent consultation.

He was rushed back for the play off the year we lost to Huddersfield, it was said at the time he would not be fit before the next season, he has not been right since then. Carlos was very quick to rush certain players back he did the same with Wallace and Hutch and ultimately it has finished their careers with us. If Winnall had stayed with Derby he would have been back playing months ago with our medical staff he will do well to play again.

A manly hug on the touchline from Tony Toms would have been recovery enough :)
