I'm a big fan of this lad, rarely has a bad game and does the simple things well. Should be a regular starter for me

Last two games he’s started we’ve kept clean sheets. Nailed on to be dropped on Saturday :luhukay:

Said earlier, been our most consistent defender and started in most of the wins this season, so jos stops picking him and we couldn't win a game, back tonight, clean sheet and a win.

Good defender, played well. Probably has to keep playing to help keep us solid the way we currently play.

Offers nothing going forward though. Not a long term solution at full back, but can see him being centre half long term for us.

He puts a proper shift in too, unlike one of his young peers.

Does anyone know the stats when’s he’s played?

Think it would make interesting reading

I get the slow integration of youngsters but let’s assess I’m a case by case basis. This lad is mature enough and mentally strong enough to cope.

Hes also one of few players that has natural aggression and we need them where we find ourselves now

Really impressed with how he played tonight, really solid defending, some great tackling and heading, possible future captain.

Last year Ameobi gave us all sorts of problems.

Tonight Thorniley had him in his back pocket.

Just play him Jos ffs.

Well we haven’t had the most cheery of time, or many positives to say about players, so sometimes it’s good to single a lad out for the right reasons :)

So pleased to see this thread (and not just cos we've won a game). He genuinely looks a quality player and never seems to let us down, regardless of where he's asked to play.

He's gonna make some mistakes but his overall game seems head and shoulders above some of the other young lads (and that's not meant as a criticism of them).

Sounded one of the better players last night. Deserves a run in the team. Jos will probably drop him on Saturday though.
