He wasn’t dropped, he was rightly rested.

Do we want this:-

Derby - start

Bolton - injured

Blackburn - injured

Rotherham - injured

Swansea - injured

Preston - injured

or

Derby - rested

Bolton - start

Blackburn - start

Rotherham - start

Swansea - start

Preston - start

?

Players that can take two games a week would be ideal right now. Big ask, I know.

Can you guarantee he’d have got injured yesterday? And that he won’t against Bolton?

Come on guys.

This is Steven Fletcher. Not some 24 year old.

Saturday start in Albania

Tuesday start in all-or-nothing v Israel

Saturday start v Derby

Tuesday start v Bolton

You’re not serious surely?

Jos can be hammered for several things, but having a go for clearly sensible player-care is daft.

I’m pretty sure he could have managed 10 minutes off the bench. Instead of having 4 defenders on it.

Fletcher got brought off in both games.

How did James Forest manage to start for Celtic yesterday, lunchtime kickoff? Or his mate Ryan Christie?

Or Mcgregor for Rangers.

Or Patterson in the Premier League.

Or Robertson for Liverpool?

I could go through the team but it would get boring.

Fairly clear he cant do a full pelt 90   I suppose given our position this season I suspect playing against bolton is seen as more important   kin ell how has it got to this?

Interesting, did any other Scotland players feature for their club yesterday?

Christie, McGregor and Forrest all played for Celtic in their lunchtime ko.

given that other players played for their club wonder just how much truth there might be to a player giving his heart for his country  but can't be arsed to earn his 40k       i think it's much more likely about saving him for Bolton

I think Fletcher comes from the "I will play with me eye hanging-out Boss the other ones ok " Brigade ...

I've said before sometimes Fletcher puts his head in where he shouldn't ...

That is the measure of the man.

Feel sure if he was allowed he would have played yesterday...

What a strange thing to put ...

Why would you assume he said no ?

He may have said yes? ...

Total supposition !!

Jos can be hammered for several things, but having a go for clearly sensible player-care is daft.

The perception prior to the international break was that he couldn't play two games in a week. Then, having not featured for his country in over a year he plays a significant part in two crunch games for them and is substituted near the end of the 2nd game, tired but not injured or completely shot. You would imagine his confidence would have got a big boost from his involvement and plenty of plaudits. Maybe starting him yesterday would have been a risk but having him as an option from the bench would have helped - Nuhiu has sadly been pretty poor most of the time this season and offered nothing again yesterday.

Also, Jos's policy of player-care is seemingly becoming a bit contradictory. The vast majority of players have needed a spell in the under 23's before returning gradually to the first team yet Forestieri, who has a very poor fitness record in terms of availability slots straight into the starting line up and looks like the fittest player on the pitch.

Looking forward to yet more changes on Tuesday. The only thing that Jos has managed to do consistently is fail to pick up results.

Likely to see Fletcher start our next 5 games.

I would hope he can start Tuesday, Saturday, Saturday, Saturday, Saturday.

About as likely as cam Dawson scoring a hat-trick bud. We all know jos may start him Tuesday, he scores a brace in our first victory in 7 and would be rested or on the bench on Saturday, Jos the rotator!!

Off topic but nobody seems to be questioning us continuing to play Matias and Joao. Listening yesterday they didn't get many mentions and I'm wondering if they're a luxury we can't afford and it's time to offload them both?
