Positivity / Happy Memories

Recommended Posts

Just listened to that new Owl Sanctuary podcast (pinned at the top of the matchday section) and have to agree that whilst times are tough there is more of a need for us to have people posting funny stories, happy memories, and wacky facts about the football and footballers at SWFC over the years

Also a need for older fans to tell us stories about supporting SWFC back in the day

The podcast is brilliant and it would be great if we could bring that kind of positivity onto Owlstalk more and push out more positive vibes

Dave Jones rocked up a few seconds after that was taken, to finish the job

lol

Dave “The Builder” Jones needed HIS squad. Jones could not a build a squad as proved by most of his signings. The squad (HIS squad) got us promoted for HIM and us fans.

That win against dem blavdes was the catalyst for that run. That win was down to The Ginger Genius.

FFS I’VE BEEN WORKING ON LITERALLY THIS EXACT PROJECT, give or take, for about THREE MONTHS

*gives up*

EVERYONE OUT, BOOOOOO :picnic:

Genuinely a bit gutted, although it’s a lovely thing. Good luck to them. Siiiigh.

Don't let it stop you. Who's to say your project won't be heavily subscribed to?

If you've been working on something Wednesday related for 3 months, then I dare say you have something to bring to the table.

Keep going.

Don't give up the ghost Corky!

There's always room for more views. More interviews.

And ALWAYS room for more positivity!

When we invented football in this fine city it didn't stop other people still having a bash at it too.

Or something along those lines.

Ok. Not my most motivational quote but the point stands.

Get it done!

I remember the night when we played Cruddersfield in the play off semi, took the lead and Hillsborough was truly rocking. That light show with the mobile phones was amazing. I've got it as my Twitter wallpaper. Felt alive in that moment. Didn't last long mind but those few minutes was a happy memory and reminds me what could have been and what might still be.

Crack on @Mr. Tom because although it was quite smiley to listen to I think it came across a bit, not sure what the word is, cronyish?

I'm sure there is always room for more positivity given the level of angrymadness out there so carry on with what you were doing.

Wednesday fan up a flagpole at brisbane rd.

I know its not a win, or a cup or owt, can't even remember the result..sometime in the 70's.

You could walk all the way around brisbane Rd back in the day...

We were on the away end, but as usual a fair few had gone down and were all over the ground in groups..No trouble ..until..an owls fan on the home end decided to shin up a flagpole and put a Wednesday flag up, where the union jack was...(As I remember it)

The cheers started as he was sorta halfway up and most of The Wednesday following caught sight of it...

Fair play to whoever it was..he got to the top and then started having a bit of trouble.

The bottom of said flagpole was soon surrounded by London Bobbies, and the Owls lad, was slowly givin' in to gravity....

Cue a mass migration from the away end and wherever else....not a pitch invasion, just a sort of polite wandering over to the home end...you could actually walk through the stand on the right hand side, end up on the home end....

It was all sorta "Excuse me madame" as The owls walked through the stand....negotiated with the police, and the lad was allowed to slide down and was escorted back to the away end...

The Police were totally excellent that day, and seemed to find it as funny as the rest of us did, even the Orient fans were laughing...

Dave Jones couldn't even unrail it by bringing in Nile Rangers

How much did Gary "Goal Machine" Madine, Michael Antonio and Jose Semedo cost?

Just imagine if we'd been able to buy Ben Marshall and Danny Bath!

It's not all about tactics, it's about picking the right players to build a team that works.
