My daughter wants to know if the Human League are wrong 'uns. Her extensive research is inconclusive even after googling. She saw a few threads on Owlstalk that shed no light on the matter whatsoever.

Any info welcome as it has now become a big issue on the domestic front.

What team do they support.

Thanks.

(Hoping it's not Rovrum though)

lol

A tail gate Ripper who I worked with at Orgreave,  claimed his niece was one of the female singers.

I once forgot my snap and he shared his roast beef and horse radish sandwiches with me.

Proper roast beef - from the previous days roast.

Cooked well, or pink in the middle?

In all honesty, I can remember it like it was yesterday.

Its strange how some things stick in your head, like getting your first pair of long trousers for school.

His wife had made the breadcakes too. It was memorable - that’s why I remembered it.

I specifically  remember it was in the tailgate too. (A mining term).

Yup mate, i only worked underground at Maltby for 3 years and i can honestly say i have never worked with a better set of blokes, well apart from once when we ended up labouring cable pulling for my dad of all people, he was one of the charge-hand electricians and a reyt slave driving c**t..... i am glad to say i only ever worked with his once at the pit...

He's mellowed now and i have done many a re-wire with him over the years, totally different charterer away from the pit...

Good chance for reminiscing and a bit of name dropping. I was of the age that meant i went to the daisy, Limit and later the Leadmill. Saw joy division/new order, orange juice, simple minds, undertones at the Limit, great times. The original Human League socialised in the daisy on the Bowie nights and i spoke to all of them. Saw them a number of times at the university and various pubs and to be honest sometimes they weren't very good.

Pretty sure Phil was an Owl and Martin Ware definitely was, saw him recently at the station waiting for a taxi to Hillsborough with who i assume was his lad in the blue and white stripes.

A memory that sticks in my mind was at the Limit around 85/86, they'd retired but decided to make a comeback and prior to a European tour they did 3/4 nights warm up at the West street mecca. It was packed out and i was at one point stood next to Lee Chapman and Gary Megson, Someone in the group saw them and inserted 'Sheffield Wednesday, good times into the chorus of 'the thing that dreams are made of'.

As it would at the time, it kicked off somewhat in the crowd.

Funny as F. Was anyone else there?

Definitely Owls tell your daughter.
