Bannan last niight

Recommended Posts

Most of his passing resulted in us losing possession with far too many bad passes in our half, think he lost his head last night......too wound up.

Have to wonder if that collective mental energy, which Bannan was part of,  is what underpinned the defensive focus though.......

Both are good points. Thought he had a good first half but did look to be losing his rag in the second. Couldn't fault his attitude though.

Poor yesterday but usually the man for us so I’ll let him off

Agreed. If ever a player has earned the right to have an off performance it’s Baz.

Carries the team week in and week out and shows he cares.

Bannan was very poor easily the poorest player on Wednesday side. he never touched ball in first 30 minutes and he made at least 5 bad passes. He did make two good passes and regained ball in a couple of tackles but also lost ball on a couple of occasions in dangerous areas. He does not have pace or physicality when it is an high tempo game. Many teams are now allowing him to have ball as they realise the majority of his passing brings little reward. This was most evident in QPR game where they allowed him to have ball (in excess of 100 touches) and it all amounted to nothing. A fancy dan turn a couple of excellent goals and a lot of huffing and puffing does not make a good team player

Sounds like Bannan is fast becoming the new Tommy Craig...a class act surrounded by a sea of sheeite! And other teams know that if you pressurise him in the middle of the park we offer little or no threat, I’d like to see Reach stepping up in games where Bannan is stifled because he’s every bit as capable of pinging the ball around.

You can't win sometimes. There's been a lot of criticism of the players recently, suggestions that they're disinterested and not sufficiently motivated. So it's good that Bazza actually recognised the importance of last nights fixture.

To be honest, I don't think the way we set out to play yesterday was ever going to suit his strengths.
