We’ve Had Enough Playing For You

Recommended Posts

This is a solid looking back 7:

...............Westwood

Palmer..Lees..Hector..Penney

.............Hutch.Joey

I reckon that would keep a clean sheet next time out, a mixture of youth and experience.

Then an attacking 4 of:

.................Bannan

Reach.........................Joao

.................Fletcher

A 4-5-1 out of possession and a 4-3-3 in possession.

As I said before, if you cling to every word spoken in interviews with football players, managers and chairmen I can only give you my best wishes.

But when did you last see Westwood play and how good was he? It's hardly beyond the realms of possibility is it?

I can tell you what I have seen - a manager who says he hasn't seen enough of Keiren Wesstwood to make him number 1. He had ample opportunity to see him in pre-season but only played him for 45 minutes - during which he did not concede a goal.

This season I have seen 16 league games in which we have conceded more than 22 of the 23 other teams in the division and have failed to keep a single clean sheet - only 1 other side of the 72 in the EFL has managed this and they are rock bottom of the football league.

We have tried almost every conceivable formation with every conceivable combination of defenders to put a stop to this but the one position that hasn't changed is the goalkeeper.

Do I blame the rookie goalkeeper having to contend with a loose shape and disorganised defence in front of him? No. Do I blame the manager for bringing on this situation if we are to believe that what he says about Westwood being 3rd choice is not beyond the realms of possibility? Absolutely!

It's  just as I've had this debate with you on every manager since Megson and you were in the wrong  every time. It's not lording it over you it's just fact

It's true.

I recall him backing Jones.

He backed him and backed him until it got ridiculous and Jones was eventually shown the door.

You never see him when we are having a decent spell.

The only time I see him post is when things are going boobs up and then like magic he appears to tell everyone they are wrong.

Prior to this relegation run there were some serious warning signs. Wigan Brentford and Forest games. Then how lucky we were in the leeds game. The capitulation at 2.0 up against West Brom.

There is a distinct chance we will get relegated.

No team defends this badly and stays up.

We sure were pathetic at forest

Even when we lost 1 in 9 and went up to 6th place? Or the excellent run at the end of last season?

If the situation is really that bad, then there would be no need to make stuff up would there?

That run was against teams who had nowt to play for. FFS.

That's a myth that has been debunked before. But it fits in perfectly with the desperate need to eradicate even the tiniest trace of a positive, even if that requires dishonesty or special pleading.

What, the one loss in nine?

End of season. Nothing games.  First nine more important.  Not last nine.

E.g. last home game beat Norwich 5-1. Think they were bothered.

I thought the one in 9 was this season when we went up to 6th, not end of last season?

So Leeds weren't bothered about a Yorkshire derby?

When we played them...

Preston were 2 points behind the play-off positions.

Sunderland were 3 points from safety.

Bolton were 5 points from the bottom three.

And so were Reading.

Wolves were aiming for 100 points.

Pretty tragic someone should be making excuses for why we won a few games.

I thought that was a really good post from Sgt Wednesday:

Much more of this and Cam Dawson will not recover, the kid looked ruined out there today and the players aren't confident with him.

A good manager knows when to take a player out of the firing line, Jos isn't a good manager.

If only he had a senior Keeper he could bring in to solve the problem

And to get instant results, all a new manager needs to do is to play the players in the background, chomping at the bit to play.

In the end, Jos has committed professional suicide.

Unless of course it’s not Jos’s decision to leave such players out.
