Good idea in theory but the best players who would improve your team would have bargaining power to say no to a pay as you play deal and sign for someone else instead.

It was said tougue in cheek

lol

The reality of such a deal could never happen at big professional clubs

Seriously.

If we put everybody here on a pay as you play contract.

We wouldn't need to worry about FFP ever again.

Back in two weeks. FFS

WTF:

A few would owe the club money. lol

The idea of pay as you play would be sounds ideal, BUT, how would the idea go down with this if applied to ALL forms of work?

Would our supporters be prepared to work under such strictures

Isn't that what we all do anyway.

Go in get paid.

Day off sick.  No pay.

With regard some players who have dubious injury records I would suggest a pay as you play deal is the only type of deal they would get. These sort of deals usually mean a minimum type of weekly wage and a bonus every time selected for a gmae which takes them up to a first team wage for that game. The likes of Matias and Abdi could only be taken on by a club in future on such terms with their woeful injury records. Hooper I think if he gets fit at some point could only expect such a deal if does not return think retirement beckons. If Lee recovers and starts play will probably warrant a deal but it would have todepend on how succesful hip treatment has been. There are some others whose record is not good and however good a fooyballer you are being only available for 20 games is no good in a 46 game season.

Zero hour contracts are worse you only work if they want you. If self employed you are automayically on these terms.

Perhaps we should do what  a fair few restaurants do - the supporters pay what they believe the offering is worth on the day!

we should have a pay scale linked to Owlstalk matchday player ratings.

10 = full pay working down to

1 = no pay +  a public apology at half time before the 50/50 draw at the next home game.
