The talk of moving to Weedon Street...

Recommended Posts

There was talk a while ago of a stadium move to an area on Weedon Street near Meadowhall, this story puts the kybosh on that as the area is looking at being turned into an industrial estate by the company that owns Meadowhall https://www.thestar.co.uk/news/picture-nearly-5000-jobs-could-be-created-at-new-industrial-complex-near-sheffield-s-meadowhall-1-9332327

Wouldn't it be brilliant if a spaceship could come which just hovers over Hillsborough stadium, lifts the current stadium up into its underbelly, gets rid of all the old crumbling fack bits and drops a spankers 40k seater in its place complete with current character, iconic stuff like the clock but then updated with all the latest mod cons like Dyson hand dryers etc.

Would be mint.

HIllsbro is our home..spend the money on that rather than move to a flat pack IKEA stadium .

Time moves on.  A fantastic new stadium could be built to mirror traditional grounds.  Hillsborough needs to have more development room around it and be more central at the same time as better access to the M1.  Wednesday should never have moved to Hillsborough, the fans choice was Carbrook in Sheffield.

Couldn't agree more, and the clock could be powered by one of those lithuminum battery, instead of the big ones we use.

Hillsborough is Sheffield Wednesday.

Think nearly every other club who has moved has lost something.

Think of West Ham in particular. Olympic stadium just isnt them.

Not going to make bold statements that if SWFC moved I would never set foot in the place but certainly think twice about paying £650 plus for a season ticket.

If we got promoted would we really need the extra money that a new stadium would produce?

fizz that. Some things you can't put a price on.

Spend a few million on Hillsborough and although you wouldn't bring it up to the standard of new grounds, it would make a tangible difference.

In a few years time more and more fans are going to be jealous that they don't have a ground like ours.
