*Will do.

**Are you flying or driving to Grand Canyon?

We drove there from Vegas and got pulled for going 85.  They said we were due in court the following wednesday but we flew home before then so I was banned for 2 years driving in Arizona:duntmatter:

I had 3 weeks in Vegas in July, expected a large resort fee, so tried low balling the tips.

They have no shame "Would you like to tip now or after your service" at the buffets

It felt similar to walking up fargate and getting asked "Have you got any spare change"

Few tricks with things like this. I was hotel hopping briefly before I got an apartment there for 6 weeks. Cleaning, bedding and because I had a kitchen was extra per week. Only about $60-$70 over a new smaller apartments without a few extra basics. After 2 weeks I said to a receptionist how about I tip you weekly and take that charge off. Flashed her a 20 and she said I’m sure we can do something about that. Saved me $50 per week anyway, I’m happy, she’s happy. Also worth asking certain places when out for a meal if theirs locals discount, have a bit of a joke with it. Can’t remember what % it is but I think it was at least 25-33% maybe more. Just hint that if they put you down for it you’ll leave a bigger tip. Again both of you benefit.

Biggest back hander place going.

Few tips for anyone going soon. To get cheap drinks just sit at a slot machines playing the penny games. Cost you sod all and just tip waitresses a dollar. Saves the $7-$10 you usually pay per drink. At casino bars stick $5 in a machine at the bar, drinks should then be free, do tip a dollar or 2 per drink depending on what you have and the bar staff will look after you too. For buffets they don’t really do much. We used to tip $1 per drink but now some places have self service statins. So lucky to get anything.

It can be a bit cringey, but if you look after them, then they will certainly look after you.

Huge one. Get Uber everywhere if you aren’t walking. They also have Uber and Lyft vouchers all over. Get about $50 worth of rides free. Uber will be at least 30% cheaper than a cab, with the odd exception of spiked times. Much nicer, cleaner cars and friendlier drivers. Often give you bottle or water etc.

Sorry for the long post but even if just one person benefits then it’s useful.

Forgot to add, check with sports books in casinos and poker rooms if they will have the game showing. They should be able to find out for you.

MGM is a favorite, the pool area is awesomegarymegson

Stayed there in 2000, awesome place. Had a wander down the strip as far as Treasure Island hotel so we could check out our wedding venue. Had family & in-laws there with us. Said we wanted to walk back up to the Paris Hotel to book a restaurant in the Eiffel Tower for the wedding meal. Mother-in-law says, which one is that!!!!! Err, the one with the big fooook off Eiffel Tower outside it that you walked past 45 minutes ago.

Went to Vegas a few years back and some Japanese bird won $2m on the fruit machine right next to me. Think it was a Wheel of Fortune thing with a linked jackpot. Still got the Elvis tune it played in my head.

They taped it off, but traffic cones around the bandit and she was marched off is hysterics. Seem to recall you can either take the lump sum with a big tax charge, or get paid in annual installments. Maybe wrong on that.

Vegas is great fun. Hotels are immense.

How is the resort tax calculated? I'm going to be there for 2-3 days next April so hopefully won't be too hefty. Get some decent deals on hotel rooms that time of year as well.

I was at MGM in june, resort fee was $30 but with great facilities there it’s worth it

they have a great sports section, you will definitely get Wednesday game there

$30 per day covers free parking which most hotels have made pay and display although you get free parking at the other mgm hotels as well.

You also get free wifi while you stay plus the money goes towards the pool etc

Not sure if you get taxed on the final resort taxlol
