International break

Recommended Posts

I reckon they are a big problem for championship clubs.

We play 8 more league games yet have to take the same international breaks so end up with too many midweek games and players playing sat tues sat far too much.

Plus championship games are far more attritional leading to injuries.

Don’t know the answer

Change the rules to Prem only, when we get there we'll have to live with it lol

Scrap the International breaks.

We dont do it for the A.C.O.N.

But do it for meaningless friendlies.

If anything, stopping the domestic international break, would even things about a bit between the big boys and the lesser clubs, albeit for only a few games a season, but would make it more interesting.

Ah come on guys. That extra 2 weeks could be critical in Abdi’s rehab.

I know why is any Wednesday complaining about international breaks?

With our squads injury record we need them to stop their legs falling off!

lol

The only good thing to come out of them is it gives plays an extra week to get over minor knocks.

Exactly.

Comes at a good time for us.

Most critically, Bannan should be sorted.

Fletcher, Thorniley and Matias should be back.

Winnall, Hooper, Lee, Abdi and Van Aken will be two weeks closer.

I don’t know who has been called up this time around but players I’d imagine to be in contention or possible call ups include but not limited to:

England U21: Onamah, Penney (must be due a call up)

Wales U21: Baker

Jamaca: Hector

Scotland: Bannan, Fletcher (maybe bit of stretch nowadays)

Kosova: Nuhiu

So thats 5-7 potential first team players unavailable, so I think wanting us to play on regardless may be a bit of a strain on our limited resources.

Shouldn’t stop us from playing.

Wednesday 23 Germany 3.

(Nuhiu 20, Foxy 3)

Foxy is really looking forward to this one and bashing the Krauts.

Not my usual 23-0 prediction sadly. I have to allow for a lack of clean sheets nowadays.

The midweek games in our league are a killer - i can't stand them.

The league is just too big.
