Will The Westwood Scenario Cost Us

5 defeats in our last 22 Championship games tell me that any disadvantage there is of Westwood not playing is negligible.

Dawson has played the last 15 league games ( which includes final three of last season ) , and we have only lost 3 times. I dont see where we have missed Westwood.

2014/15     43 Appearances - 17 Clean sheets 2014/15 PFA Team of the year, Owls player of the year

2015/16     34 Appearances - 14 Clean sheets team got to play off final

2016/17     43 Appearances - 16 Clean sheets team got to play off semi final

2017/18     18 Appearances - 3  Clean sheets

2018/19     0 Appearances

In his first season with us he help gets points and kept us in the league won the Owls player of the year and also was in the league team of the year the first time and Owls player had been since the team of the mid 90's, in his next two season he was in goal when we got to two playoff finals, in his 4th season he got injured (as well as the rest of the first team squad) and only played 18 games, this season he has been deemed not as good as the two young keeper on our books.

It's not that, you utter bore.

It's an acceptance that Westwood isn't playing and we should offer support to the young lad who has stepped in, as opposed to tearing him down at every opportunity.

He's gone as far as blaming Dawson for not saving their penalty yesterday

You're wasting your breath Si...

Dawson has done a good job in amongst what has been a very inexperienced back four at times.

The loser at the moment with this whole situation is Joe Wildsmith.

Pragmatically I'd send Joe out on loan in January and bring Westwood back for the cup and hope for a bit of a run.

That way instead of just warming the bench Joe can be out there learning and improving key areas you need to be playing first team to progress and maybe if we can get a few in the cup Westwood can prove his fitness, ability and could put himself in the shop window so to speak allowing him to bag a move away allowing us to get him off the wage bill.

I just think that we would have leaked less goals this season with Westwood between the sticks

Just my opinion !

Its the few points that we lose now that can become very costly at the end of the season !

you couldve added it to one of the other 6 Westwood threads tho and people couldve got 30 seconds of their life back.

Dawson is a very good young Keeper who is playing well...... yes hes look nervous recently but do you blame him with the stick hes getting from an Element of our fan base !

Totally agree !! Just said the same in the other westwood thread. dewsburyowl thinks players confidence is not affected by the certain moaning element we have. If KW was in his prime like 3 seasons ago he might be playing but he is not. The fact that certain fans still harping about KW when we have 2 great young and improving youngsters playing well and backed by the stats is typical of the negative element we unfortunately have. I still amazed that people think this wont affect the players confidence.

The brain capacity and mentality of some our our fans is frightening. I dont think they realise that they make the club a laughing stock.

Sad but true. Its getting really frustrating reading another post from somebody judging games on performances of players 3 or 4 seasons ago. Move on. KW not the player he was. If he was he would be picked. The fact we have a great young replacement and some just want to slate him  really shows  the sanity of some people on social media. The internet gives everyone a voice even the numpties you would never normally pay any attention to.
