room0035
A simple question for all those in the know Jones, Hutchinson, Boyd, Westwood. All senior players, all fit as far as we are aware none in the match day 18. All on good money money but out of contract in June 19. Are all of them on the transfer list, free to a new home or are they genuinely not in the managers plans, what do they do to be in his plans or do they have no chance of playing again unless we have the sort of injury crisis we had last season. I like to have local lads playing for the team but you don't just pick kids for the sake of it normally. Last 2 games against the best teams in the division currently Leeds a young lad called Rice called up, last night a kid called Shaw no idea what position they are. Would it not have been better having a bit of experience on the bench with players that could see out a game or if our back were against the wall could do a job for us. Or maybe i am missing the point and its all about not worrying about the result and giving the players experience.

0114
Pretty simple. Jos said other week the future of Sheffield Wednesday is for players aged 19-23. No point giving game time to crocks on big money who will not be here in 12 months, better to develop assets. All about the bigger picture and I’m happy to back Jos on this one. 4
royalowlisback
Don't understand the point of naming Rice, Shaw and others - when there is virtually no chance of them coming on to the pitch. It is not work experience, just another thumb in the eye of Senior Pro's paid to do nothing all season.

Based on that Lees, Pudil, Fessi, Bannan, Reach, Joao, Nuihu, Palmer from last nights starting 11 wont be here next year then. all are over 23, all have had injuries in the last 12 and most are are big money compared to the kids in the team. Though some of them are still in contract past this season.
HOOTIE AND THE SHIT TU
Perhaps Westwood, Jones, Boyd and Hutchinson have win bonuses written in their contracts By denying them even a place on the bench, we’re saving money Just a thought 1 Just a bloke, who used up all his luck in one go when he met his wife. Philb125
Educated guesses here and in no way ITK: - all players mentioned one’d are considered surplus to requirements and not deemed to add value to first XI so are not involved in match day squad - players mentioned are on big salaries and likely have big bonus’s too that are triggered by appearances, clean sheets, assists and goals. Not playing them likely saves us money - the players mentioned have either failed to impress when called upon (Hutch, Boyd, Jones spring to mind) or fail to impress in training I have no doubt the players listed depart at soonest opportunity and to be honest I don’t think they would have prevented last night, from what I’ve seen of their recent effort /performances we’d certainly not have been 2-0 up against one of best teams in division playing any of them. Sonny
Would be great to know why we aren’t playing these slow and perennially injured players. Will have a think.

Sonny
Why the hell don’t we accommodate the likes of Hutchenson into the team for three games whilst they get up to ‘speed’ and then get injured again?

Why bother with Matias then? He has played waaaaaaay less games than Hutch. Or any others that have suffered with injuries, but are now considered part of the 1st team again? We are not going to play them then why are they still at the club, I know we need someone to come in for them but any saving on their wages is a saving come the end of the season. I think if we offer Westwood to half the teams in the division with us paying half his wage he would be gone in no time, same for Boyd, Hutch and Fox. But our policy seems to be don't play them, don't have them involved and wait until they are out of contract but at the same time them are costing us £100,000's in wages each week.
