Sorry but Jos cost us points

should have put Fletcher on for Nuhiu like for like ,and the young kid was out of his depth against seasoned midfielders  weakened the side i'm afraid , west brom come on strong in the second half of their games and we should have been ready for it ,

Have to agree re change in midfield, seemed a bold / strange move at the time. Re Joao for Nuhiu, could easily have worked with a bit more pace up top, but have real reservations about Joao.  Can't see him ever making a player at this stage in his career and would move him on in January if possible.

Basically Jos gambled on us Catching them on the counter attack hence the Joao sub. The Kirby sub follows the same counter attacking plan. He is normally very neat and tidy on the ball. Probably thought he would have been good to play a killer pass through.

Hindsight is a wonderful thing. But maybe he should have went Fletcher for Nuhiu and Thorniley for Onomah then put Hector in midfield and completely shut up shop and closed down all space.

but having no clean sheet probably didn't want to invite constant pressure for 20 mins with us not having pace or creativity on the counter. which they were definitely vulnerable to.

Mistake. Obviously now as we conceded two goals.

But had Kirby played Joao through one on one to score. We would have all been saying what a masterstroke it was by Jos to play on the counter and bringing on the perfect subs to do it.

More unlucky then an appalling error in my view and as soon as one went in players heads just scrambled and they knew another was coming. Probably would have happened what ever he had done.

Mentality of the players in defensive situations is the main issue.

I'm afraid Jos making the changes he did when he did cost us points tonight , very disappointing letting a 2 goal lead slip .

Yep hands up time...he’s taken credit recently so he has to take the flack as well. Bizarre subs, bizarre timing of the subs (to late) and generally got the last 15 minutes totally wrong!!

We went from looking fairly comfortable on 80 minutes...to 2-2 at 86 minutes.

They gambled with 3 subs and to be fair it looked like they wouldn’t have much impact on the game either, until our subs where made.

Point gained Friday, 2 dropped today!!

Would have taken Nuhiu off...he was tired...and replaced him with Fletcher.

Put Thornily on and pushed Hector into midfield if Onomah was injured.

Absolutely this

Let's not kid ourselves here, yes the subs were strange but that doesn't hide the fact the cat, Lees and whoever else tracking back with them completely bottled it with not putting a tackle in our bringing the player down

You simply cannot back off players like lees has a tendency to do ... absolutely criminal ...

We’ve lost enough games late on for our defenders to know YOU HAVE TO stop/take out strikers at such key moments.

Barnes picked the ball up in his own half...we had enough players to stop him.
Tactically, Lees had PLENTY of time to see the danger unfolding...coming at him.

Pessy not wiping out Barnes for the second goal ,and Lees going AWOL and being out of position leaving Pessy to try and cover for the first goal are where the blame lies tonight.

Just got in and watched it back.

Exactly the same as against Weeds, back off and back off again and then back off some more. until it's too late.

Poor defensive tactics. No authority in defence.

Very frustrating to watch.

No leaders at the back. We always look like conceding. Dawson isn't commanding enough, neither is Lees and Hector although quite a good defender put us under some unnecessary pressure tonight with playing it out from the back. Pudil probably the best in defence.

Utter joke ... He thought game was won and thought I'll give kid 5 mins experience... Idiotic decision... Easy decision to bring thornly on and move hector into midfield alongside JP ....

Jos is I'm sorry to say worst manager we have had for years... If he honestly is keeping Westwood out because he thinks he is 3rd best then he shouldn't be anywhere near the club..

If club had any sense whatsoever they would snap up Steve Bruce and get rid of Jos ASAP

posts like this show how daft football fans are

win 2-0 and Jos is a genius

we let a player run from HIS OWN BOX to bang one in the other net and suddenly Jos is to blame

joey or lees should have took a yellow for the team

Absolutely

Steve Bruce is the bloke who drifts from club to club and never wins anything major. Disloyal and just thinks of himself until the next offer comes along. On top of that a win rate of 38%. Is that what we really need to take us forward.?

He was right to take Nuhiu off.

He was on a yellow and was in danger of getting a second. Like at Wigan where Jos left him on and he stupidly got sent off.

Should have brought Fletcher on, if nothing else for his experience.

This protecting players is getting ridiculous.

We want to see the kids do well but you have to protect them as well. Kirby should have been told to stay in the middle of the park not run all over the place if he should have been brought on at all.

Just  when you think Jos is getting to grips with this league he shows absolute naivety like tonight and you just realise he doesn’t really get it.

Please God no! Not sure whether to laugh or cry at this - 10 minutes away from a very good result and team playing with loads of commitment, but some people want Steve Bruce?!
