The first visit of Leeds in 1920

Recommended Posts

It's nearly 98 years since Leeds made their 1st visit to Hillsborough - on 9th October 1920 for a 2nd Division league game - #SWFC won 2-0 with both goals by Johnny McIntyre.  No mention of any attacks on goalkeepers or outrageous dives in the penalty box!

Didn't they reform in 2007?

This is their first visit in that case - https://www.skysports.com/football/sheff-wed-vs-leeds/235111

Leeds United were formed in 1920 after the original club, Leeds City, was thrown out of the Football League because of a row over illegal player payments. This report must be of the first meeting at Hillsborough after the reformation.

Match report is a damn sight better than rubbish printed in modern news media.

That's Ross Wallace in the flat cap.

No wonder he got tired towards the end of matches.

so @helmut_rooster and/or @Birley Owl 1867, tell me, when were Leeds reformed?

Formed 2007, Leeds United to a new company, Leeds United 2007 Ltd, owned by the Cayman Islands-registered Forward Sports Fund and chaired by Ken Bates.

The New "VVank" badge was from early 2018 lol

When they went spectacularly bust in 2006/07, got relegated to League 1 and were punished with a 15 point deduction despite the FL classing them as a new entry.
