PeteG_1984
Maybe not THE moment it all went wrong but certainly a key milestone. That Briscoe goal and the 10 mins after was one of my all time favourite moments at Hillsborough though.

outlaw pete
The whole of football remembers Di Canio being sent off and his push on the Ref, But what few remember is that the first player to be sent off was Martin Keown for his brutal attack on a Wednesday player.. The trouble on that day evolved around Keown..

Little did we know the series of events that would follow and the utter ineptitude of both the management and Chairman which, ultimately led to our decline. Compare and contrast the handling of Cantona at man utd for a far more serious offence. That was the power of Ferguson and man united - we didn’t have that. di Canio scored some good goals and had some good games for us - but he screwed us with his actions that day and after. it was his fault and cost us massively. no time for him. The only way is S6
Me & my 9 year old son were at that game, in the North. Thought we'd get hammered when PDC got sent off. Great scenes when we scored. Sorry, but that's the silliest thing I've ever seen a ref do. Di Canio was a crazy genius. Rumour was, he used to deliberately get sent off in the run up to Christmas, so he could go to Italy for the holidays while he was banned.

I though it was Carbone who got a yellow card for needlessly arguing with the ref near the Wednesday corner flag (against Charlton, perhaps?). This produced a ban, because he used to get booked quite a lot, which meant he went home to Italy for Christmas (or so the story went). Can anyone confirm? The only way is S6
Interesting. Maybe I'm mistaken, but I think I remember PDC doing it at Celtic too.
