I think they have a real job on getting new contracts if they want to stay. A mix of needing a freshen up and the FFP threats will make it difficult for one or two but it would be sad to see such good players go on free transfers too. We are in a difficult spot there.

On a positive note, it could be a timely boost for us getting players like that back later in the season. Especially if we are on the fringes of top six.

That’s Matias’ minutes in our last 8 games.

Even more impressive is not that he's simply on the pitch for those minutes, but how much of a shift he puts in, never knew he had it in him he works so hard, even to the point he's helping our fullbacks out, and he's not totally afraid of getting stuck into a tackle when need be (or letting himself get fouled in dangerous positions), sure he occasionally goes down a little too easy but in some countries that's the culture and it's hard to completely remove it from someone's DNA.

We play our best when we play with a high tempo.

I watch games like Villa on Saturday and think there is no way Hutch could play in it. He still goes off his feet too much and in that game would have been sent off or carried off. I think Jos sees it this way too as he was a liability first half at Brentford and didn’t come out for the second. A manager needs to be able to trust players.

Hutch to friend of my daughter in Morrisons yesterday when asked if he was injured: Nope, I'm fully fit. The boss just doesn't like me and won't play me.

Could be true

Guess it’s a tricky one for Jos to address. Sam is seen as somewhat of a peripheral figure here with an expectancy to start games. Is Jos making up an injury as an excuse for not rating him?

It would be quite an elaborate rouse to send him to see a foreign specialist just to maintain the facade, wouldn't it?

Luhukay seems pretty straight-talking; I doubt he'd shy away from saying that Hutchinson is just not being selected if that's the case.
