Thorpe Hesley OWL
Thought he had a good solid game today and just a special mention due to his clearance off the line which saved a certain goal. Must admit I was sceptical about his inclusion today when I saw the team but he definitely proved me wrong long may it continue
Woodie
Ever since he was switched to centre half he hasn’t let us down what so ever. After watching him get turned inside out against Huddersfield in the play off Semi I was hoping I’d never see him in blue and white ever again. But he has been superb when relied upon at centre half, and he’s decent on possession too.
BRADDO
He's excellent in a back three
oldishowl
I think the added experience of Pudil and Hector made a massive difference today especially when we found ourselves under pressure . Pudil is the best defender we have at reading situations and getting in the right place . Comes with experience. If we are to stick with a 3 then no reason why Lees and Hector can’t play every game while Thornily and Pudil rotate where necessary on the left
Shetland Owl
Had a great game just hope he is not injured think it may have been cramp
FreshOwl
I think we’ve missed Pudils experience in that defence. For me he’s been one of our best signings over the past few years Wasn’t he on a free like Wallace?
Paul..
He saved us on many more occasions today than just the one (admittedly stunning) goalline flicked clearance, all in all he had a brilliant game IMO, might not have the legs but there's no replacement for experience, and he's willing to move forward with the ball and make forward passes not just to Bannan, that said I think a back three of Hector central, Lees right and Thorniley left is a very exciting prospect, how good was Hector? Wow, best defensive debut in a long, long time!
legendaryswan
Not a fan of DP in the centre, but he had a stonker today, and that clearance prevented a certain goal so a massive well done pal

Mystic Neg
All the above plus we are not used to players coming in after a spell out and being on it. This is happening regularly now. I dare say Jos has a lot to do with that, looks after his squad and not any favourites. Our squads like an orgy, they're all up for it

Tommo_
Kept Abraham quiet all day. Made one great interception in the box in the second half and turned on the ball then ran it out. Solid
Guest Kagoshimaowl
Wouldn’t want to see Pudil ever play in a back 4 but he’s superb in a 5. It helps that he’s decent in possession as well. Wonder if we should play 4-3-3 at home and 5-3-2 away.
Tom22709
He’s a great reader of the game, imo he’s better than Lees and should be the first defender on the team sheet
McRightSide
Pudil has been performing at a high level for that best part of 9 months. He looks a little ungainly at times but he’s easily our best ball playing centre-half, and the young players looked much more at ease with him around. I think he’s a great player to have in the squad personally.

bigash_swfc
Very interesting line up, I haven't been to the game. But from the outside looking in, it's a great move by Jos. Hector and Lees, 2 right footed CB's, one of them would have played on the left side and no doubt be scapegoated. So Jos included Pudil, who is naturally comfortable at LCB. Just shows you, it's not about how much your players are worth. (Grealish 20m, Bolasie 30m, Kodija 15m, Abraham 10m+)
Suzuki_San
He had an amazing touch in the 2nd half, to nick the back away from what looked like a certain goal.
hodgybysea
Poor old Daniel, always looks knackered but keeps going, great ball from back to front for Fletch that started the pressure for the second goal.A good performance all round from him and for his troubles gets smashed in the nose by a flying elbow.
