PitreavieOwl
Players only get themselves on form if they play every week consistently, Fletcher playing every few games isn’t going to help him get on form. We have to find our best XI players. Which in my opinion is: Dawson (Westwood but it won’t happen) Penney Lees Thornily Palmer Joey (Lee when he’s fit) Bannan Reach Joao Fletcher (Hooper when he is fit) Fessi (when he isn’t banned) Edited September 20, 2018 by PitreavieOwl

jomaco
I agree. Onomah and Matias to get a look in also, but based on last night, not at the expense of pelupessy I guess he was just keen to rest some players last night, but otherwise I agree - no changes to winning team/best XI unless necessary - which seems to be what he was doing in fairness
asteener1867
I think Jones is as effective as Joey, not Joeys fault..I reckon he has more talent than Jones but is being asked to do a job I think Jones does just as well, if not better..Hutch would do it better than either of them but is injury prone.. Holmowl
Take a look at @trumbullowl thread on pg2 called “Teamsheets”. He already has picked his best Xl. Until last night ten of the 11 starters hadn’t changed for 3 games. And even then it was only a near like for like Fletch for Nuhiu to rest Atdhe after the Kosovo appearance. I assume last night was about rotation, to avoid playing some guys three times in 7 days. You single out Fletcher. He is one of the players we simply have to rotate. Play him game in game out and he will fall apart. Edited September 20, 2018 by Holmowl

Joao as a central striker and Reach left side linking with Penney. Last night’s set up was just perverse. Neither of those two seemed to know what their role was. William 1867
The manager still has no understanding of the championship. Playing the young players that are not good enough, senior players left out or played in wrong positions. The sooner he's gone the better for me. Jos out. vulture_squadron
Danny Wilson used to pick the same XI every week. Seriously though - last season should remind everyone that playing every game is not always the best option! Jos has his hands tied to some extent. Top teams rotate (when they play midweek as well) it's part of the game. Our problem is we are relying on inexperienced players coming in while established pros taking up a lot of our budget don't seem to stay fit and/or contribute much (Rhodes, Jones, Lee, Abdi, Boyd, Hooper, Van Aken, Hutch.) Perhaps harsh on Hooper - but he's only played half our games in the past 2 seasons.
pazowl55
Think last night proved we can't do without Pelupessy in there.

You could argue the same about Nuhiu. At the end of last season he was on fire, as he got a run of games, got fit, got lean and looked really sharp. 2 hours ago, asteener1867 said: I think Jones is as effective as Joey, not Joeys fault..I reckon he has more talent than Jones but is being asked to do a job I think Jones does just as well, if not better. Jones just isn't mobile anymore. He has the turning circle of a bus. Joey every time for me.

Pale Rider
Any absolute idiot picked up from the nearest bus stop would pick Westwood and Fessi. That pretty much sums up Charlie Chaplin for me.
torryowl
i'd hope jos picks what he thinks is his best 11 with the intention of winning the game in question ….an eleven that is suited to one game may not be suitable for the next

I'm of the opinion it isn't just a footballing decision and our poor financial state is hampering us, it's clear we are cutting corners whilst trying to give our selves an outside chance of promotion. People need to wake up because we are in a mess and whilst we will be safe this season I worry for the one after as I we will be closer to league one then the premiership after the vultures have taken our best players for a pittance. james o connor
There is no such thing is a ‘best 11’ in football. Jeez nobody plays the same team week in week out. All the know it all experts on here said joey should be dropped. Didn’t exectly work at well when he wasn’t in the line up did it
