It’s a bit like those fat ugly lasses that announce they’re newly single on Facebook for the hundredth time.

You laugh, think I’m glad I’d never go there.

Deep down though, when you’re pis*ed or having a bad time you worry that you’d be tempted to chuck one up her.

Sir ! You are a wise man :goalie: lol

Hence the main reason people have a grudge

We're the ones left with paying the price for years to come

Why some fans still defend this absolute travesty of a time under Carlos I will never know because 99% of the issues at this football club have come directly from his actions

You make a valid point Neil but surely DC is also culpable for some of the batsh#t crazy decisions that have been made.

That could have been a missed opportunity, didn't they spend a few weeks working together before Gray left?

Why was it? You can coach players to within an inch of their lives, but if you are gonna play the same team and same tactics week in week out, what's the point?

Can everyone on this thread showing negativity confirm they never sang ‘Carlos had a dream’, loved getting to the playoffs in his first 2 years and had a brilliant day at Wembley.

I can confirm I never sang it during a premier league match if that helps.

I think the evidence of Jos taking over a crippled squad, the entire first team 'unavailable'/injured, the youth team being told they've no chance of playing ever, the non favourite players who were fit having been told they will only play when there's absolutely no other option...

Oh yeah and players only turning up for training as/when they could be bothered to etc etc

Were the injuries his fault?

Did the other stuff actually happen or is this just myth presented as facts?

I find the Carlis hatred on here weird. We were ONE game away from going up in a season where we played the best football I’ve seen since the mid 90’s and in a season where some pundits predicted us for the drop. Yes, it went south after that but I will never hate him for that season that he gave us.

Weird really as Megson is treated like a god in here, yet that was in a lower division and he didn’t get us promoted either.

really? id say having carlos as a manager  is the equivalent of someone been given a massive loan with no way of paying it back then been evicted from your house the mans a clown whats left us with a crippling debt and a host of players we are stuck with on mega bucks, most of the football under carlos was painful to watch total negative dross. with just a handful of games where handbrake was took off. I found his interviews totally repetitive and boring .

First year I'll give you - with the caveat that you can argue getting to Wembley and losing, while then proceeding to address none of the reasons why we lost, doesn't constitute "success".

Winds me up when people say we had a good second year. An unbeaten run down the stretch to get us into the play-offs (and above the previous years points total, admittedly) hides the fact that for large parts of that season the football was dreadful, people weren't happy and for most of the season it genuinely felt "different".. not right.. like a regression in many ways. There were massive question marks throughout the second season over tactics, positions that still weren't properly addressed, players coming in and not contributing, the direction and identity of the team..

Then we utterly surrendered the play-offs. Rolled the dice with a high risk gameplan for the first leg that didn't pay off with a gutless non-display during the second.

Carlos' tenure for me is quite simple. Some good, some bad, lots and lots of confusion, frustration and question marks that arguably still effect us approaching a year after he's gone.

This is a bloody fantastic post!

my thought's are the first season he did great up until Wembley, second season he nearly destroyed the team ,I can't even think of anytime that we have had so many injuries and bringing them back before they are fully fit can lead to big complications which in some cases it did  ala Kieren lee and to a lesser extent Hooper I think  And  add that to the dismissal of bringing the youngsters through and using his pals no matter what gave us a partly abysmal season ,So sorry he had to go even though we scraped the playoffs and blew it again

Carlos was manager of the football club when all these young players were developed.

Fans can’t have it both ways.

Shame he didn’t play some of them.

Perhaps if he’d given Thornley a chance we wouldn’t have wasted £4m on Van Aken.

we've been here before …… how can carlos be responsible for the crippling debt & mega bucks that the players get  paid …… ….chansiri  and his advisors would know what they could  or couldn't t spend to keep the club onside of FFP  and they just spent anyway trying to reach the pot of gold that is the prem …if .you think carlos is a crap coach I wouldn't argue with you on that coz we all have different opinions  but financial matters is a different story .

Chansiri being inept doesn’t excuse carlos for being a truly dreadful manager .

truly dreadful managers don't get to the play offs 2 years running ……..I think chansiri gave him a remit to get promoted by the end of the  second season and all common sense on the financial implications if they failed went out the window...…carlos can be classed a failure for not delivering but truly dreadful ..nah

His legacy dictates he was dreadful , hence the mess we have been in since he left. The signings he made were awful . His tactics were awful and the team picked up results because it was decent , we won In spite of him. When it matters he fails every time. Both seasons we were dire in the play offs . Swansea’s crunch mat h at home to Southampton,   Needing only a point for survival , they lose.  Everywhere he goes he ultimately fails .

Jaap Stam got to Wembley.  Left Reading a dull shitshow.

The footballing world is full of few year flukes.  Who cares.  He neglected youth development, played his faves to no end, and showed absolutely no tactical nous ever.  Those negatives still affect the club, and they far outweigh some fleeting bit of brilliance that was more on the collected players absolutely clicking than some managerial acumen.
