Loved it, coming on and going straight through one of their players. Probably a bad position to do it in, but something we've been missing for years. When he starts he should go pick out their biggest lad and put him on his bum. A bit of steel at the back at last.

while we play 4 at the back he will struggle to get in. Thorniley was awesome again yesterday.

If you’ve gotten so excited about a 10 min cameo from a CB that didn’t have time to do that much, I can’t imagine what you’re like when you get your tail/tuppence touched.

For me it was pushing Matt Penny forward to LWB and watching him go past four Stoke players which needed a very good save from a multi million pound goal keeper..

this lad could develop into a very very good player..

In my opinion, Hector will be in the team very shortly. Personally, I think he’s just what we’ve been lacking. Big physical presence and he looked good when he came on.

What the f*ck is going on in this thread

According to Whoscored.com, he touched the ball three times during his 6 minute appearance. Three. He made one defensive action... a 'clearance'. The only other thing of note he did was give them a free kick 25 yards out in the last couple of minutes. 

 

I'm all for positivity, but how the actual flying fiddly f*cking doolally sanity's sake are people forming any sort of opinion on him based on touching the ball three times, clearing the ball once and giving away a set-piece opportunity in less time than it takes to listen to Stairway to Heaven.

As far as I can remember he was on for about 10 minutes , won 1 decent header and then gave a free kick away in a dangerous area. I am all for praising players but not sure how you could say he was a big plus based on yesterday! Did look a big imposing lad though , which is a bonus

Thorniley was poor for both Stoke goals.
