Sean Clare Signing for

BIG D

Recommended Posts

Just had a look at the current Hearts squad.

Tbf you can see why Clare has opted to join them.

Sure, Premier League clubs might have been interested, but at Hearts he gets to play with such greats as Aaron Hughes (yes, he is still playing), Steve Naismith and Christoph Berra.

Bannan & Joao re-mewing their contracts is a bigger deal than Clare, and the money involved with those 2 will have been far greater than Clare.

Maybe we offered Clare what we thought he was worth and he didn’t agree? Paying more than you think people are worth is what brings financial problems.

Fair point, well made.

Absolutely. Hillsborough frankly is a bit of an embarrassment these days. A good stadium 20-25 years ago but scoreboard and pitch aside it has barely had any money spent on it in that time. It has character and great views but it’s falling to bits in places and not fitting of a Premier league or top end Championship club anymore. Tynecastle has had 4 new stands built in that time and is a fully modern stadium with good facilities everywhere.

This is where the old negative review marks  are sorely needed.

Soul, Hillsborough has it in spades.  Wider concourses and a spiffy videotron make a better ground?  No thank you.

Wider concourse only needed if we get fans attending even then the ground has suitable concourse to suit its needs lol I think the bloke must be on summat mate haha

Quite like Hearts as a club, but I don’t for one second believe Clare when he says he turned down premier league offers to go to tynecastle.

He didn’t specify which Premier League though. Both Malta and Belarus have Premier Leagues for example.

Why not if he feels that getting into starting 11 of club he is playing for is more important then 1 or 2k more a week ?!

If Hearts can get within a grand a week of what English Premier league teams can offer the  I'll stand hanging.

There's no way.

Not what they can, but what they are willing to offer. If Hearts see him as possibly important first team player, and Spurs as just one of their U-23's then it makes sense.

If he was a spurs’ under 23 he would still be on 10k p/w plus, with the promise of loads more if he made the step up (which, surely as a footballer, you have to back yourself to do).
