The correct answer you're all looking for is Paolo Di Canio.

Don't believe me just ask Nigel Winterburn how scared he was.

:tango:

With hindsight knowing he’d never play for us again, oh how I wish Paolo had chinned the weasel

if Sam Hutchinson ever took Mick Lyons on Sam would be carried off on a Stretcher .Played Liverpool in the cup ,Mick got studded ,Needed stitchers ,Had them done in the the tunnel .Came back on finished the game ,Do not insult the Lyon of Hillsborough ,To even compare Hutchinson in the same level.

Oh dear where did I say Sam was in the same league as Mick Lyons ? I , In my opinion mentioned Sam simply because he has bottle and never pulls out of a tackle . That is rare in these days of Mamsy pansy footballers rolling about like clowns .

He's looking right through me, to the centre of my soul. And he looks like he wants to murder me. Or sex me. Either way, I'd probably let him.

Truth is you dont have any say in what happens either..:Pelupessy:

Being poor at tackling doesn’t make him hard , he wouldnt be in the top 200.

Coughlan , Pearson , des to name a few

What’s going on here ? Of course we have harder players in years gone by but Hutchinson’s attitude is rare these days and if you can’t see that well maybe we don’t judge the game the same way .

And here's another thing.

It's hard really not to look back in this sort of thread rather than at more recent time (and not just because our signing of biscuits in recent years)

But also because. ...well. men just looked a bit more manly in the past.

I mean,  Knighton. He's a bloke isn't he.

If I remember rightly, after he got it in the face, he headed the resulting corner to the halfway line before collapsing in a heap semi unconscious.

he was trying to put on a fresh non blooded shirt when he headed it

tbf he should've been dragged off the pitch too brave for his own good

Totally agree on the Hutchinson point.

Tackling like a toddler after 30000 smarties and then being carried off makes you a clown not a hard man

Anyway-Steve Howard!
