Guest Bulgaria
Can i please offer some constructive criticism? I find your podcast enjoyable and listen to it when i can, however please please please, when one of you is talking can you try and not to shout over them or continually interrupt whoever is talking? Also, could you try and use less swearing? The latest edition, 178 i think, was very informative especially the CEO meet and the All Wednesday film review. Thanks. It is, unfortunately, a sign of the times in every part of life. People will not listen to another's point of view, then argue sensibly against it. We have forgotten the idea of holding meetings, and the purpose of the Chairman. In any well-ordered meeting, there is NO arguing amongst yourselves. EVERY remark should be addressed through the Chair , the person who's role is to control the meeting, making sure that every argument is heard, but in an orderly fashion. I may think you are talking a load of cobblers, but it is your right to be heard, and for me to then put an opposing point. In this way, everyone can make his point, and people can then make up their own minds. As for swearing, having worked in pits for year, my language can match the best, but I try to remember two points made forcefully to me in my youth. The first was from my English Teacher who insisted that swearing was used only because people forgot the English Language, and didn't know what they were saying. The other was from an old Colliery Manager I worked for, whi, if you bswore in his presence, simply walked away from you with the words 'I don't swear a you, kindly do not swear at me., and then I am prepared to listen.' Nero
I like the FFP podcasts very much. Unfortunately I find the main podcast unlistenable at times which is a shame because I really try to like it. And occasionally, usually via LH or James it's genuinely entertaining and informative. Constructive criticism to some but not all of the casters. If you've got no idea what you are talking about and freely admit this in the podcast, why would you think people will want to listen. Especially if it's delivered in a loud confrontational or depressive tone? Less is more. 20 mins max unless there really is something to talk about. The lazy, 'this is Wednesday, so it always goes this way' etc just grinds my gears. All clubs fans who like to think they are 'special' say this. It's way too matey. Not everyone can be funny, so if you aren't, don't try. Self awareness is a great asset. If like me you are a condescending tail, try to temper this by also being humble.... I listen to a lot of podcasts of which these are some. Wednesday Week is the longest by a mile. Just an opinion but it needs editing.

Gnarwolf
That is an awful collection of podcasts, no wonder you can only listen to half an hour at a time 1

Not really, I listen to several podcasts every day and hardly any of them are under an hour, quite a few are 2, 3 hours + the beauty of podcasts is it’s pretty much the only place you can hear long form interviews, conversations these days. There’s not much demand for TV chat shows anymore and the ones that are still running are rarely in depth and usually just a place to plug the guests latest venture. As for the point about swearing, I don’t really give a f**k.
@owlstalk
Here's a revolutionary idea I just came up with it Let me put it out there and see what people think... How's about letting those who are getting on with it get on with it, and if anyone thinks they can do a better job - why not do it and give it a go how you like it? There's room for everyone out there to produce what they want Owlstalk Shop
BRADDO
It took me nearly as long to read that list as it did to listen to the original podcast.

Maybe you can produce a better product by listening to your customers and not being thin skinned about criticism.

There are some very successful podcasts that are 15-25 minutes long. Im a fan of TWW and the team Are to be applauded for it, but have to agree with almost every point raised. That said even if it doesn’t change as suggested I’d still listen to them!
