@owlstalk
Fernando Forestieri has received a three-match ban with immediate effect after admitting an FA charge of violent conduct following the Owls’ pre-season friendly against Mansfield at Field Mill on Tuesday 24 July. As a result, Forestieri will miss the Championship games against Stoke at home and Aston Villa and Nottingham Forest away. Forestieri, Mansfield’s Jacob Mellis and both clubs have also been issued proportionate fines. The Wednesday forward will be back available for selection when the Owls host Leeds on Friday 28 September. Fernando Forestieri and Jacob Mellis banned 3 matches retrospectively (six weeks after match) for a melee in a preseason friendly. Had they just been sent off in the game, then by FA rules on red cards in preseason they wouldn't have been banned for competitive matches.... Quist
Do not understand this there are pictures of Mellis lashing out no ban. Apparently change of ruling in 2009 stopped bans for pre season friendly's. One of their guys was given red card and no mention of him.

Bluesteel
Was expecting this given all the reports of punching, could’ve been longer. Not sure why we were fined more. Some pivotal games coming up so it’s bad timing (if there is ever a good time)

Fessi's been fined £25k whereas Mellis has been fined £1.5k despite clear images of him aiming a flying kick into Tom Lees stomach.
SiJ
Bit of a f00ker but not a surprise. Suspect Jos has been planning for this eventuality.

Bluesteel
Surely Mellis must be banned? How are fines proportionate? One was a slap to the face, the other a cantona style two footer. The FA really have an issue with Forestieri
