It is believed the Owls, who appointed Steve Bruce as their new manager last week, are keen on strengthening their full-back options. YUSSSS!!! Music to ma ears. IMO full backs have been our weakness for a number of seasons, Great news if true

I like him but I’m not sure he’d tear the league up and he’s nearing 30. Would be available on a pre contract. I’m expecting Levein to speak to him about going to Hearts too. MLS side New York City are in talks with him. Edited January 10, 2019 by DELUDED OWL

Birley Owl 1867
Anthony Pilkington released by Cardiff. Would be a great signing. Doesn't matter just seen he's gone Wigan. Shame. Edited January 10, 2019 by Birley Owl 1867

I think this comment shows a complete misunderstanding of Fletcher's role within the side.

Recall him scoring a scorcher against us for Udders, was decent at that point but had a number of years in the wilderness, do we really need another player of that type. malek
Again, we need mostly look at players with resale value as we don't want to find ourselves in situation like this one again. Hope that DC learned from his first 3 seasons at the club.

bigash_swfc
Bruce likes a strong combative CM trio. According to transfermarkt. He signed Huddlestone, Livermore and Diame for Hull. Whelan, Hourihane, Lansbury, McGinn for Villa. Gardener, Cattermole, Cana for Sunderland I think we may see massive improvement in this area under Bruce. Still think it's vital we hang onto Bannan. 451 with 2 solid workhorse defensive minded mids along side him would be great.

The guys chance conversion rate is 10pc. I know what he brings to the team but he is a professional striker who perpetually and consistently misses easy chances. It doesn't matter if his role is target man, link man, battering ram, a 10pc conversion rate is costing us points and we need better if we are to progress. Even if we make Fletcher 3 clear cut chnances per game he'll only score 1 in 3 games. This is pathetic as a professional frontman.
