Flat Owl
We were truly on our way back. Proper shirt and a bit more quality - even if one of Bannisters legs was shorter than the other... Didnt stop him getting 20 goals a season for the next 3 years.

Proper kit Didn't 'Purdie' get 22 goals for each of the 3 seasons? Amazing consistency. I was heartbroken when he left us for QPR. QPR ffs! We had just been promoted and I'll i could think about against Forest was Banno not being in the team, i was only a nipper. Mind you, that Varadi goal soon made me forget!

Thought it was that one of his legs was LONGER than the other, oh well... Pretty sure I went to this, but thought it ended 1-1, unless I'm thinking of season before. Curran/Bannister in same side.

I will echo what Pulsar said..i was gutted when Bannister left, could never understand it , i think at the time it was intimated that he wasn`t keen on Wilko,s "style"

Ibbo48
And we never had a striker like Banno till Hirsty came in. And we never had a midfielder like Meggo till Carlton came in. And we’ve never had anyone in either position since then to touch them

He was, only with Her Majesty's Rangers. FFS!
Watto
Wasn't this the game TC scored and climbed on the fence to celebratewhere thousands of Wednesdayite's were stood behind ?
Rogerwyldesmullet
Banno. Best finisher I ever saw for the Owls. Back then we were told that his missus wanted to go to London but saw a “QPR legends” interview not long back when he said he was happy at Wednesday and Wilko just sold him.....
