We were truly on our way back.

Proper shirt and a bit more quality - even if one of Bannisters legs was shorter than the other...

Didnt stop him getting 20 goals a season for the next 3 years.

Proper kit

Didn't 'Purdie' get 22 goals for each of the 3 seasons?

Amazing consistency.

I was heartbroken when he left us for QPR.

QPR ffs! We had just been promoted and I'll i could think about against Forest was Banno not being in the team, i was only a nipper.

Mind you, that Varadi goal soon made me forget!

Thought it was that one of his legs was LONGER than the other, oh well...

Pretty sure I went to this, but thought it ended 1-1, unless I'm thinking of season before.

Curran/Bannister in same side.

That's what i had but Banno's was definitely a 'Purdie' Mr Dunsby Sir because his brother, Charlie Williamson  had the same.

I will echo what Pulsar said..i was gutted when Bannister left, could never understand it , i think at the time it was intimated that he wasn`t keen on Wilko,s "style"

Yep, remember reading that and QPR did play some nice football on their greengrocer 'slide tackle burns' astro turf.

Was a shame he left - was convinced he would be just as lethal in the first division...

He was, only with Her Majesty's Rangers.

FFS!
