We were not allowed to offer a renewal until embargo lifted - but I take your point. If I were the manager I'd let him know that he was the future of the club and that he wasn't 6th choice back up!

Tough decisions need to be made as we cant keep everyone, hopefully they are made quickly as it is painful to see the debate, criticism of our future players at expense of our past.

For me with funds tight we look at were the most saving can be had, Hooper has not played 30 games a season yet. When fit there is few better than him but he is injury prone, getting old so maybe more injuries and he is on in excess of £30,000 a year.

Cant say I disagree - but not sure who else you'll get for 30K per year! Wouldn't catch me taking the abuse for that any how :)

Think most of the first team players are on more than £30,000

Hooper won’t get a new deal, not on his current terms anyway

and his fitness is a major issue to be fair, needs to get some serious games under his belt before any talk of new deals regardless

I don't think we can afford to keep him, the money he is on to miss 15-20 games a season when we have 4 or 5 other strikers than are available to play for 40 games+ a year.

So currently we don't have available to play.

Fox, Reach, JVA, Winnall, Hooper, Lee, Joao, Pudil

Westwood is not allowed to play

I though this new regime where going to get the squad fit again, 3 games in and we have more players injured than the other 23 teams in the league.

Westwood is allowed to play according to Jos. He was asked outright last week about this.

I’m not convinced by Winnall, but a front 3 of FF-Nuhiu (or Fletch) -Winnall would certainly be a handful.

Or Winnall with either Nuhiu or Fletch, with FF wide in a 442.

Our squad is so unbelievably ill-balanced. So many quality forwards, so few quality defenders.

Yep.

Lee and Hooper are professional footballers for Sheffield Wednesday.

Abdi is a mythical being. Bit like Bigfoot and unicorns.

What do you mean unicorns are not real! My granddaughter will be distraught.
