TodwickOwl
Get back to basics and let’s start again Players are looking lost, we look a shambles on the pitch and Bannan is asking the questions on the pitch on what the hells going on - if Jos cannot swallow his pride and play this team in a 442 it’s going to cost him his job. Anything is better than watching us successfully fail playing a system over and over again Team for Millwall: Dawson Baker Lees Hutch Pudil Matias Bannan Reach Forestieri Joao Fletcher Or use a Pelupessy in front of the back four and then we have enough talent moving forward to make something work - without relying on wing backs. Dawson Baker Lees Hutchinson Pudil Pelupessy Reach Bannan Forestieri Joao Fletcher 1

TheEnchanter
Honestly think its a lot more to do with the way we play or the tempo (lack of). Lack of pace. Lack of willing. Lack of creativity. The fact this team has played Carlos ball for years which involved starting with a low tempo, preserving energy, dropping deep and only pressing the opposition when theyre in our final 3rd. Ultimately it won't matter what formation we play when we play like we do with the players we have.

Right now, he’s solid enough to be in that position - he doesn’t need to do the full wing running up and down anymore, He’s more than capable of doing a proper job there.

You must have missed the bit where his legs started to go about halfway through his first season with us. You must have also missed the Huddersfield play-off semi-final where he got mullered time and time again leading to their equaliser.

DJMortimer
Is this the same 4-4-2 formation that almost everyone was screaming about last season being hopelessly outdated and predictable? 1

Tbh the guy they brought on who set up the equaliser was rapid and had fresh legs.

It works/worked for Brighton, our problem was playing 442 with wide players without any pace and two sitting midfielders. So we didn’t create enough for the strikers like Rhodes. Winnall and Matias did alright with their limited opportunities as well.
Ronnie Starling
We dont have the players to play 3-5-2. No wing backs at the club and our centre halfs are uncomfortable with the ball at their feet.

That’s a bit like Man Utd fans saying they don’t need to improve their defence coz they finished 2nd last season so it can’t be that bad. If we had wingers under Carlos we would of had a better team
shez owl
Everyone was screaming for 3 at the back last season. It worked too straight away vs pigs away. The players can play it, they’ve proved it, but our key spine players are another year older and now carrying huge expectation and can’t handle it. what a mess

Maybe not in the future but now he is. westwood is a better keeper than Dawson - ditto. Hutchinson is a better centre half than thorniley - ditto. fletcher is a better striker than nuhiu - ditto. play westwood palmer Hutchinson lees pudil reach bannan pelupessy matias forestieri fletcher Only change it when needed and get some loan players in with pace and height. DobbinTheDonkey
The containment game has passed on. CC, Maurine and now Jos need to learn that football evolves. Wilder showed Pep the way and now most teams like the high press. Unfortunately for us whomever was in charge of recruitment made a total balls up and the pr1ck(s) need showing the door. No press. No Tempo No pulling teams out of position No Hope. Millwall at home and it already feels like a Winter's February midweek home match. The one where you have put a shift in in cold weather, you're still cold and you have to make it to Hillsborough after watching months of crap. So easy to stay in the warmth and watch a Champions League game. Only it's still warm outside and there is no game on I want to watch but still... coopswfc76
We need to play the 3 4 3 we finished the season with imo. We cant play 4 3 3 like today or 4 4 2 as we don't have the players for it.

My team v Millwall which Kinda is a 4-4-2 as fessi in free role Dawson Baker Lees Pudil Thorniley Bannan Hutch Matias Fessi Reach Fletch Edited August 19, 2018 by gypsyowl
