Nielsen

Recommended Posts

He’s an absolute beast. Won pretty much every header tonight and also used his strength well. He needs to work on some bits of his game like positional sense and decision making but that will come with experience. Hopefully he can breakthrough this season and offer us some defensive cover by coming off the bench before trying to stake a run in the first team

If we were Brentford, Barnsley or Utd we’d be playing him week in week out and selling him for 3-5m come January!

The lad looks very promising and I’m hopeful that our situation now allows us the chance to bring him through and keep him rather than us buying another older past it CB like we have in past.

Connor O'Grady is a much better prospect IMO.

Think Nielsen is only getting in the side because of his height. Not very quick, not great on the ball.

Thought he’d get a game tonight. Feel for the lad actually. Jack lee seems to have gone above in pecking order too

You're on a real downer tonight.

Thank god we won, you'd be reaching for the razor blades if not.

Thought he looked ok on ball for his size. We definitely need a commanding CB so if he or JvA can toughen up, learn to do basics it could save us a fortune!

Looks a great prospect and a real unit

tired towards the end but a great performance he played much better than Van Aken

Not sure about that, the header towards the end of the first half where he headed it back across goal and it hit a Sunderland player and fell kindly for Wildsmith would get punished in the Championship and there was one cross that he left 2nd half across the 6 yard box that would have been a tap in had Sunderland had an actual striker in the team instead of Maguire.

Made a couple of school boy errors, but liked the the fact that he kept his head up and wasn't phased by them. One in the second half, sloppy pass which against better opposition would maybe have been punished, but the lad looks strong and brave, a few things to work on, but as with thornily maybe could turn out to be  a free transfer steal/bargain if he continues to improve.

Bang on.

To be brutally honest he wouldn’t be anywhere near a pro club if he was 6’3 or below. Not really sure what he’s good at?

Very limited centre back who hopefully can learn the game quickly for his sake. He’s not at the level Beevers and Spurr came through at, and their careers have hardly been glittering.

He’ll do a job filling in but O’Grady suits our style loads more than both Lee and Neilsen imo.

The kids 20 year old he’s going to be raw with a few mistakes in bannan gave the ball away twice which also could of got us punished but he picked up man of the match

a performance like that at this stage of his career especially with how much Sunderland had the ball in and  around our area was very positive

lad played well and should be encouraged to do so more. I’m sure he will pick up on the few mistakes that happened and doesn’t need reminding of them and he’ll work on them

he was streets ahead of van

aken who looked very suspect in the first half.

Put it this way I wouldn’t be too worried if he lined up in the championship
