sheriwozgod Posted August 16, 2018 Share Posted August 16, 2018 Wildsmith - 6 Untroubled, one smart save second half Neilsen - 5 Distribution was pretty good but looks a bit cumbersome and uncomfortable when attacked on the floor Lees - 8 Very assured Van Aken - 4 Looks woefully short on confidence, was just starting to improve slightly when he got injured Palmer - 5 Usual stuff Bannan - 8 Praying he didn't get injured when the tackles were flying in, quality shone through Hunt - 5 Looked very nervous, will be better for tonight Boyd - 1 Chriiiiist where to start...………….either hit the first man or gave the ball away EVERY time he had it, looked painfully slow and weak, and it was actually quite embarrassing just how awful he was. Reach - 7 Non existent for first 30 mins but steadily got better as the game went on , good finish. Fletcher - 6 Worked very hard again, just lacking the final touch at the moment Matias - 6 looked lively till he tired....smart finish Kirby - 6 Started slowly but grew into game well Penney 6 Looked very assured when he came on...….just has the look of a player about him Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Lees bannan reach fletcher Palmer matias stood out. neilsen looks like he could be a player but needs to be more aggressive. boyd was atrocious - gave us nothing and the only player that still looked poor when we were on top. Philb125 Posted August 16, 2018 Share Posted August 16, 2018 Wildsmith 6 Nothing to do! Palmer 5 maybe bit harsh, but hoped for more from him tonight. Nielsen 7 surprised how good he looked. If he keeps developing, learns dark arts of defending he could be the ‘commanding CB’ we’ve been so desperate to find. Far from finished but why wouldn’t we develop him this season. Lees 6 didn’t notice him, which after first two games is probably a compliment. van Aken 6 gutted he went off, like Neilson he could develop into a great defender and was getting better as game went on (Penney 6 looked solid) Boyd 5 hmm not sure what to say here. Trying to be positive. Hunt 5 hard for any player next to wondering bazza, will be better for the game (Kirby 7 lively, team played better which may be coincidental but looked a player) Bannan 6 I expect more from Bazza, in years gone by he dictated play against a great Newcastle side yet tonight despite some moments of magic, quite a few moments of mediocrity Reach 6 some powerful running but not enough of it. Fletcher 6 needs a goal Matias 8 probably MoTM he’s a class above the team we had out there tonight and some of his runs even not spotted by Bannan. It’s easy to forget he’s the age he is, as he’s such a unit, but thought he looked assured and really got into the game...a few creaky moments but, again, he’s one of the ‘youngsters’ out there... ...as for Boyd, what a soft touch he was tonight! Penney and Nielsen had solid games and Nielsen looked commanding Mattias didn’t want to come off....is he going to last?
