Palmer is in the early throws of adding something to his game he has not been allowed to do in recent seasons.

You can see he's trying and you can see it's almost working, and tonight - despite Kivo's attempts at humour, or whatever it is - Palmer did have a good game.

Like a lot of players right now, he needs time to adapt, and tonight was another step in the right direction - certainly not the finished article and he did make some mistakes but not really a night for dishing out grief really.

We won, and several players, Palmer included - but also a lot of kids - did very well.

He did ok but Sunderland offered nothing in attack.

Not quite true.   They looked good going forwards just behind the striker, they just had maquire up top for the final push every time and he wasn't enough.

Honeyman and a couple of others look like they could be a threat in the Championship, never mind L1.

Palmer played well today, though totally neshed a challenge around 87 minutes even though it was 70/30 in his favour,i can take players being poor but players bottling tackles really does infuriate me

I couldn't decide if he neshed it or tried to be a bit too clever.

Well Honeyman was on our radar and is defo champ standard imo.

Gave him a run for his money. Palmer stood up to it well.

He was good.

Dependable and very comfortable in the ball.

He is clearly better than Baker however much the haters would love it to be otherwise.

Because it's relentless and comes even after he plays well. Appalling support.

Palmer gets a 7 from me.

Boyd a 4. Awful. Falling over for nothing. Plss weak and half assed.

Hunt a 4, he isn't ready. Nervous and scared of the ball.

Reach and bannan our best players with 8s.

Boyd was poor but why is it not OK to be critical of Palmer yet you can describe Boyd's performance like that? Yes Plamer played better than Boyd tonight but why the hate?
