Drewswfc
A good read this. Should Wednesday be looking at this and implementing some of there ideas https://thesefootballtimes.co/2018/07/18/levantes-highly-sustainable-financial-model-la-liga/
@owlstalk
The new model was based on long-term sustainability with a strong focus on harvesting talent at the academy, signing affordable players only, and revitalising players that didn’t succeed at other clubs and selling them for a profit. Sounds good to me Owlstalk Shop
@owlstalk
There has not only been a cap on wages but on transfer fees too. Over the past six years, the club has spent a mere £20m on transfers while they’ve recouped £32m, all the while securing their place in Spain’s top flight barring a solitary season away. More importantly, the money recouped has been reinvested around the club. Owlstalk Shop
@owlstalk
Another aspect worth highlighting is that there are no interferences from other departments in the sports area. Manager Paco López, flanked by managing director Javier Vich, and his team are in charge of the football and technical side of the club, and no decisions are made without their approval, no matter how unpopular they may be. @owlstalk
All youth teams must deliver a positive image at every level; in football, values and behaviour. To be fair I'd say ours do that at SWFC Owlstalk Shop
@owlstalk
Having fostered unity within all aspects of the club, where the fans feel more a part of things than ever, merchandise sales have rocketed by 60% over the past decade. @owlstalk
The club also has its own TV and radio channel through which they broadcast news, activities and stories of interest. Owlstalk Shop
@owlstalk
Levante have professionalised their management system with Sage Murano, a software company that helps manage information ratios and optimise decision-making processes. The application provides financial ratios, payslip and HR solutions, and digitalisation of contracts and documents, which saves time, space and money. It also includes management solutions for purchases, sales, storage units, and the official club store where all merchandising products are sold and registered. The software allows for a better interaction with supporters, managing season tickets renewing and ticket sales. Modern and efficient software help to keep up with an innovative way of management. It’s symbolic of a club looking to push the boundaries and invent new ways of competing. Owlstalk Shop
@owlstalk
This is not only a model for football clubs, but one for small companies, families and individuals. Not every club can sign Messi, Ronaldo or Bale and not every individual can drive a Ferrari or live in a luxury villa. But Levante UD have proven that we can all be happy and successful by remembering our roots and staying true to our means. Owlstalk Shop
@owlstalk
This article isn't just a great read - it's exciting It's exciting to think of having a club ran like that, with optimised fan engagement, clever decision making, full use of groundbreaking software, social media, TV and Radio etc and all with the fans in mind Owlstalk Shop

Don't think there's any need at all for any snipes in this thread - it's all positive, and an interesting read. Focus on the positives instead of the negatives and positivity will blossom Owlstalk Shop

torres
Isn't it just basic stuff. Most football clubs get away with murder due to the blind loyalty of supporters.
WindygrOWLer
Some good ideas there....mostly common business sense and brought by crippling debt - not sure Chansiri has either but we do need more money coming in and the active engagement with the fans seems like a no brainer. We would do well to implement some of these ideas quickly....

Arguably (and depending on how flexible you're willing to be with your interpretation of 'didn't succeed at other clubs'), we did the first bit really well with the likes of McGugan, Hutchinson, Westwood, Lees, Wallace, Bannan, Hooper and Forestieri. It's the second part where we fell down. Looking at some of the insane transfer fees that have been flying around the Championship for the past few seasons, it's incredible that the biggest fee we've brought in recently is £1.6m for Jack Hunt and we look like we could lose some of our best players for nothing in just under a year's time. tarn owl
Sometimes looking at how others are doing things and stealing a few ideas can work. Hopefully we see some of this after we get to the other side of embargos and long expensive contracts given to aging players. In a few years we may look different under our new manager and CEO. whether our fans are patient enough for a few years is very different. The club need to show they are on the right path and bring the fans with them. Very difficult in practice compared to theory, but sure we can do it. Agree with this Instead of people sniping at our club after reading this article it'd be better if the fans encouraged the chairman and ceo to look at them and see if it could work for us Owlstalk Shop

Sorry if that's upsetting for him.
