Foul on Bannan

Recommended Posts

When Bannan got hacked down in the first half and needed treatment; why did he go off the pitch before play restarted?

The player that fouled him got booked. I thought the rule had changed that allowed a player to stay on the pitch in these circumstances.

Did the ref get it wrong, or has the rule changed again, or did I imagine the yellow card?

Only you that got it wrong. He didn’t go off the pitch.

I also thought Bannan was a little fortunate to escape with a yellow later on...studs were wall up.

He definitely went off. I'm referring to the foul ON Bannan, in the first half, when he had that surging run through the middle, not the foul BY Bannan in the second half.

correct. I said the same. That WAS that if a yellow was shown the fouled player was not penalised by having to leave the field of play.....

This was the least of my complaints during the match tho...

I thought the same. Maybe our players and coaches don't know the rules and worryingly the officials.

He would have been very fortunate if he had contacted Lichaj at all but he didn't

Lichaj was a disgrace trying to get Bannan sent off

......................and he definitely had to leave the pitch

Different challenge he's talking about when Bannan got fouled and there player got a yellow card.

Sure in those circumstances he doesn't have to leave the field of play.

Oh...maybe I missed it then

I thought he started to go off the pitch and then realized and stayed on?

A tackle can still be deemed dangerous regardless of contact.

As soon as he went over to the lino I was anticipating a red. Very relieved to see a yellow

The ref didn’t tell him to go off. He walked off himself.

The fourth official was explaining to Bully that the ref didn’t ask him to leave the field.

As for Lichaj he has form. Didn’t he get Bannan sent off by taking a dive at Forest.

He defo went off, but not sure but think rule is refs discretion.

Absolutely stupid rule n needs scrapping.

Barry gets fouled n we get free kick that he most prob take but can’t as has go off field. How ridiculous is that.

What if he’s your free kick specialist or penalty taker etc
