Tamworthowl
When Bannan got hacked down in the first half and needed treatment; why did he go off the pitch before play restarted? The player that fouled him got booked. I thought the rule had changed that allowed a player to stay on the pitch in these circumstances. Did the ref get it wrong, or has the rule changed again, or did I imagine the yellow card?

I also thought Bannan was a little fortunate to escape with a yellow later on...studs were wall up. Edited August 11, 2018 by McRightSide

I'm referring to the foul ON Bannan, in the first half, when he had that surging run through the middle, not the foul BY Bannan in the second half. frastheowl
I said the same thing. Shouldnt have been made to leave the field. Then again, this was the referee who gave the goal that never was at Watford...

That WAS that if a yellow was shown the fouled player was not penalised by having to leave the field of play..... This was the least of my complaints during the match tho... He would have been very fortunate if he had contacted Lichaj at all but he didn't Lichaj was a disgrace trying to get Bannan sent off ......................and he definitely had to leave the pitch Edited August 11, 2018 by Lawrie Madden

Sure in those circumstances he doesn't have to leave the field of play.

TodwickOwl
bannan hung around for a while asking questions - then eventually went off the pitch.

As soon as he went over to the lino I was anticipating a red. Very relieved to see a yellow

trotter
The ref didn’t tell him to go off. He walked off himself. The fourth official was explaining to Bully that the ref didn’t ask him to leave the field. As for Lichaj he has form. Didn’t he get Bannan sent off by taking a dive at Forest. ozzieowl
He defo went off, but not sure but think rule is refs discretion. Absolutely stupid rule n needs scrapping. Barry gets fouled n we get free kick that he most prob take but can’t as has go off field. How ridiculous is that. What if he’s your free kick specialist or penalty taker etc
Sonny
Probably scared of getting chucked off by Hutch.
TomtheOwl95
The 4th official did go over to our physios to explain something to them. Imagine they just weren't aware of the change in the rule because the ref didn't tell them to go off.
Ever the pessimist
Said the same thing on the match day thread. I am sure we had to learn it the other way round recently.
