Cometh the hour, cometh the man

I am not suggesting that we have a crisis like the time when we nearly went into administration or worse liquidation a few years ago.

But the current situation is desperate as the fans have completely lost faith in the judgement and competence of the SWFC Chairman and his team.

I would propose a similar solution to back in those dark days in that we bring in Howard Wilkinson to run all aspects of the club.

HW saved SWFC from administration and brokered the deal to bring in Milan Mandaric as the new owner.

He could make most of the Recruitment team redundant as we are not recruiting and most of their acquisitions have been complete dross anyway.

Similarly the CEO Meire would have to report to HW as she seems to be reverting to CAFC mode with the ludicrous decisions such as the Membership charges and Radio Sheffield debacle.

Remember that at 74 Howard Wilkinson is only two years older than the individual purportedly leading the most powerful nation in the world.

What's in it for Chansiri?  Well it might save his £60+ million investment from being washed away.

Can see two problems with this:

1. Would Howard Wilkinson at 74 really want to get involved in day to day running of a football club. Probably quite well off and enjoying retirement.

2. Would Chansiri want Howard Wilkinson? Get impression Chansiri didn't spend millions and millions of pounds to delegate nearly every major decision to someone else.

Wilkinson. Gray.

Both top blokes, and one of them a Wednesday legend too.

But sweet Jesus let's start looking forwards and not backwards eh.

If they made cars in S York’s, they’d have 5 reverse gears & 1 very slow forward gear that would have an audible warning when engaged. “Warning, this in’t fer likes orr us”.

Point 2

Chansiri has run out of road...if he wants to get out of this humongous mess, he'd better stop dictating and start taking notes imo.

When you open a thread fully expecting it to be about Megson but he isn't even mentioned. Until now.

The cult is still watching, waiting for its opportunity to arise in a ginger uprising. He shall return to take players on long runs round Greno Woods and show them the whole ground from the back of the Kop.

When he bought the club from Milan instead of messing about with the committee etc, what he needed to do was do his upmost to get Milan to stay on as a chairman for the first one or two seasons, listened and learned how to run a football club then taken the reigns when he was more knowledgeable. He didn't and were here now and he needs to get the shovel out and start filing in the big hole he's dug himself and us into.

Surely not another tedious pig post. The current situation is far from desperate.  I think most fans are looking forward to having another go this season - Owls fans that is.

My thinking was that the Chairman could bring HW in for a year to get the ship righted.

Some novice owners of football clubs when realising that the whole set up is collapsing might question themselves or their existing advisors.

My suggestion is that Chansiri is at that point  now and if he does not do something like bringing in a proper football man like Wilko his whole investment of what must already be £60m  plus may simply dissolve.

These two posts are clear evidence that Megson the Memorable lives in our hearts and minds.
