WATCH: A look back on Sheffield Wednesday’s last five opening day Championship outings

The wait is almost over.

In just two days time Sheffield Wednesday will set about getting their 2018/19 Sky Bet Championship campaign underway with a visit to the DW Stadium to face Championship new-boys Wigan Athletic.

For the Owls, it seems like a favourable fixture to try to lay down a marker by putting three points on the board. But they certainly should not underestimate a Wigan side who won the League One title last season.

Still furious about that QPR game and it was 5 years ago. Two nailed on penalties, was it Helan in the box? Barton should have been sent off at least twice as well

Maghoma skinned their player in box and got fouled, then someone got done from behind when clean through.  QPR have got away with some absolute shockers vs us, remember Sougou being cut in half by their defender season after?

I'm still not over that Preston game last season.  Really still angry.

I've seen some bad performances over the years but to put in one so abject on the opening day was a disgrace.

It might have helped had the players actually had been fit for a start. The majority of them were blowing out their arses after an hour. You knew from just one game that things were on the slide.
