Jos Luhukay asked if there's a transfer embargo on live radio just now

Recommended Posts

#SWFC manager Jos Luhukay has just been challenged by a fan asking 'Is there a transfer embargo on the club' (repeatedly)

Jos is speaking as part of a managers panel live on BBC Radio Sheffield currently

The fan pushed him hard, pointing out the high price of tickets and the lack of communication from the club. He asked firmly 'is there a transfer embargo on the club yes or no'

Jos's response

I can not give answer of that

It is not my place to give answer to that

When challenged again he just repeated it's not his place to say

Worst part of this for me is the fact the club know that fans and journalists have been asking questions and that he would be asked tonight yet they seem to have basically just hung him out to dry. Why didn’t they let him just say yes? We all know that’s the case now anyway. Complicating things again for no reason.

???

What's he supposed to do? Burst into Chansiri's office and bang his fists on the desk demanding 50 milion for new players?

Yes!

Then he says "What about 40 Million"

Then 30 million

then a tenner

Then we know theres an embargo

Birmingham City released an official statement earlier this afternoon, I would imagine that we are probably in the same boat....

TALKS BETWEEN BIRMINGHAM CITY FOOTBALL CLUB AND THE EFL REMAIN ONGOING IN REGARD PROFITABILITY AND SUSTAINABILITY REGULATIONS.

The Club has spent several months working diligently to satisfy the EFL.

Unfortunately and disappointingly the EFL are currently refusing to allow us to make additions which would enable us to strengthen the Manager's squad.

We are hopeful that a satisfactory agreement can be reached with the EFL as soon as possible to help ensure our continued competitiveness in the Championship.

We fully understand supporters’ frustrations over this issue in the wake of recent speculation and rumour. We share those frustrations.

The Club asks supporters to maintain the fabulous and passionate backing they have given to Garry Monk and the team since the Manager's appointment - it is hugely appreciated and when we have that togetherness and strength in numbers it can make a big difference.

The Board of Directors are ambitious and are committed to improvement and bringing success to the Club, in all aspects on and off the field.

And supporters can rest assured that we are doing everything in our power to address this current situation.

The Club will make no further comment.

We thank you for your understanding.

If it’s a case of us putting together a finance and sustainability plan for the EFL to review then it’s not for him to explain is it

Just muddys the water further, let’s be right no one on gods green earth understands FFP, the steps instigated to ensure compliance, the bespoke fines and embargoes etc

Anyone going to this event tonight with the genuine belief they would get an answer on it from our coach are just plain deluded

Just ask him when we’re selling Morgan Fox
